Was first introduced to this place by a friend who loves locally. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Service is fast and food delicious. Would definitely recommend for anyone in the Paddington area Voir le carte

Very disappointing, prices are way higher than the menu on the website. Food nothing special and charge 12.5% service charge. The webpage prices make it attractive to step in but unfortunately prices and service charge are way higher than competitors. Not sit in vicinity of door as it is cold.

Thought it was a cute family owned restaurant, so I wanted to support that. The chicken I ordered we joked look like shoe leather and it was very tough to cut and extremely dry. I gave up eating that. One of the other guests ordered salmon and got two tail pieces of salmon and ended up, not eating anything other than the two carrots that were on the plate with the fish. So disappointing.

This restaurant advertises one price on its web page then charges a totally different price. When challenged the staff fobbed us off with the menu price is the price. To add insult to injury a 12.5% service charge was added even though we had to obtain assistance stableising the table. The owner was very abusive to a female member of staff. He openly had a ‘go’ at her in front customers, slamming down menus and generally being a bully. I stood up for her and told him he shouldn’t treat speak to his staff this way. If he had a issue it should be dealt with back of house. He then said that she was his wife. What a vile man!!! The customers clapped in support of my comments. He kept hanging around so I couldn’t speak to her on her own. I then tried to tell her she shouldn’t have to put up with his abuse and there were organisations where she could get help to get away from this vile man bully

I haven’t really used Tripadvisor before but after this I couldn’t resist to make a comment. To begin with, service was not horrible, I can actually appreciate yelling and shouting from the waiters if the food tasted like something from Italy. How did it taste then? Well let me tell you, horrible, if I put blinders and earmuffs on a dog from Italy it could probably threw together a better risotto than what I tasted. No wine, no Parmesan, no broth, but cream? Yea of course The carbonara was from a school lunch and the pasta with shrimp and tomato sauce was straight from dolmio can. We were a group of friends meeting up after 45 years of being Facebook friends and simply chose Il Gusto bc of its proximity to Paddington station. Online reviews seemed okay but boy, how wrong we were to book a reservation in this restaurant! Normally Italian restaurants are known for their friendliness and good service. Not here. I was the first to arrive, 20 minutes early bc my trains only run hourly. It was pouring with rain and so I was surprised that the waiter told me that I should return in 20 minutes. He was standing in a nearly empty restaurant with a few people already tucking into their lunch. I suggested I waited on the booked table, he said no table had been allocated. So I ord...
