For lunch during Cagliari visit a perfect stop. Relax place, nice evident and great food. We took the 5 starter 2 oyster (local from Cagliari) very good surprise..

So disappointing... the food is not freshly prepared, the service is lacking... riding the coat tails of some former glory. If you want yesterday’s leftovers, eat here, or go to any number of authentic establishments down the road.

Disappointing. We had the bland tasting fish of day that was overcooked and served with potatoes that came raw! After having asked the service for edible potatoes they said they’d see, but never came back with any solution. Not client friendly at all, especially not with the reputation they’d like to uphold and not fair for a client that pays full price of a dish that lacks half the plate. Ultimately the friend that took the swordfish ended up with food poisoning that night. All in all a disappointing experience of our last night here.

My boyfriend and I had the last meal of our holiday at Il Bistro di Polmata and we definitely saved the best till last. Not only was the food divine, but the service was impeccable. We ordered the caponatina and the parmigiana with smoked sword fish to start, cacio pepe and pasta with spigola, followed by cassata and a tris of chocolate mousse everything was deliciou! me and my girlfriend were guests of this wonderful bistro in mid-August this year, booking through the site, where you could leave a small message, where I made a small special request or if upon our arrival you could have a rose waiting for us at our table. the request unexpectedly was brought to heart and with great amazement they had prepared two roses one to embellish the table and a paper to take away. We had been recommended this restaurant by a local friend and when I walked in to book the night before our visit all was well. The waiter was very happy to deal with my appalling Italian and I wanted to eat everything on the menu. Then we arrived and still no problem. But soon after settling down and being served our water and wine something happened. I’m not sure if there was a sudden rush (two big parties arrived) but we were left with a huge gap between our primi and pasta and the my wife’s fish was served practically raw.
