"I frequently stay at the Premier Inn Redditch, but absolutely refuse their 'all you can eat ' breakfast. Firstly, it is overpriced, and secondly it is too much faff. I don 't have time for a sit down restaurant experience at that time in the morning, and I particularly object when I have to make my own toast and get my own cup of tea. The problem is that it is getting increasingly difficult to find a good place for breakfast in the local area. There used to be a great cafe in Sainsbury 's close to the hotel, where they would do a proper cooked breakfast for a reasonable price, (see my separate review on that), but that has now been downgraded to microwave heated sausage or bacon rolls. Insipid. So imagine my relief therefore when I discovered there was a breakfast place, The Good Breakfast no less, on the M42 that was on my route. I 've often passed Hopwood Services, but never had a reason to stop. This time I did. The service area itself is a bit run down. The temporary toilets a prefabricated structure outside the main concourse looked quite dingy and more trouble than they were worth, and the place was generally drafty and unwelcoming. The Good Breakfast itself was one of the very few outlets that were open. I went for the Traditional Breakfast, an option somewhat reminiscent of Wetherspoons, and at £7.49, similarly priced. But, unlike the Wetherspoons offering, I was disappointed that it didn 't come with any toast. Worse still, they didn 't have any orange juice, even though it was clearly listed as an option on the overhead menu. Quality wise, the food was pretty dire. Given that I had to procure the orange juice myself, from Subway next door, it was disappointing. A wizened, dry, poor quality sausage, a fried egg on which the yolk was cooked through, a shrivelled tomato, and just a spoonful of beans, all served on an impossibly small plate. When you see a small plate like that, you know the portions are going to be quite mean and grudging. Shocking, as Gordon Ramsay might say. On a positive note, the bacon was better quality than Wetherspoons, and the mushrooms ironically an item which doesn 't figure in the Wetherspoons equivalent were not too bad. One last observation: the receipt was barely readable because the thermal print was too feint clearly an issue with the printer or the paper. A sure sign that neither have been properly maintained, which tells you all you need to know. I might give it another try to see if the quality fluctuates, but for the moment the jury 's still out."

Called here for refreshments etc. on our way home-we both had cappuccinos which were flavorsome and nice and hot

I bought two boneless box meals from KFC today and they were extremely tough. The chicken was tasteless and rubbery, making it the worst takeout food I have ever had. I strongly recommend avoiding KFC altogether. The food was just terrible.

Supposed to be 24 hours. I arrived at 10.15pm and found only WHsmiths open. No Starbucks , Burger King , Subway, sod all. Bear in mind this was a Saturday evening too. DONOT ADVERTISE AS 24 HOURS IF NOTHING IS OPEN FOR FOOD. Won't be stopping here again.

Things haven't changed much since my first visit here three years ago. The escalator still doesn't work and the bathrooms are in desperate need of renovation. The main area features a large screen that only shows a Vauxhall advertisement on repeat, which can be quite annoying.

You need to STOP cars parking or broken down cars being left in the caravans only bays. 3 cars parked up in the bays at lunchtime, we were lucky and got a space but while we sat eating lunch 10 others pulled through but had to go straight back out again, a few with young families. Cars can park anywhere, caravans can 't. One sign £1,000 fine should do the trick. Start caring about your customers

Stopped here for breakfast. Asked for the trad breakfast but with out beans. Told there were no tomatoes. Asked whether the cost would be reduced as I couldn 't have 2 items. Answer 'no but you can substitute other items ' Me: I 'll have black pudding and ........ ' You can 't substitute that item, you can have hash brown or eggs only. I gave uo, we had a bacon roll which was terrible. Don 't stop here

If you ever stop at Hopwood Services and fancy a bite to eat, do yourself a favour and don't even consider the Good Breakfast. The customer service is without a doubt some of the worst I've even encountered. The woman serving had all the charm and warmth of a corpse and even less conversational etiquette. Her boss was however even more rude and ill mannered, if that is indeed possible. I would rather done at Nazino island than ever return to this atrocity. Do yourself a favour and use Burger King.

My partner and I had been in Birmingham to see a show and missed breakfast at our hotel due to a late finish. On our way home, we decided to stop at Good Breakfast, a small business that has taken over an old Fish Chips spot in the food hall between KFC, Burger King, and Subway. Initially unsure due to the first impressions, we decided to give it a try and were pleasantly surprised! The fried egg was freshly made, the sausage was of decent quality, the bacon was good, the tomato was fresh, the hash brown was fluffy and crisp, and the fried bread was amazing. This was a happy and unexpected find and we will definitely be stopping by again in the future!
