"After our 3rd and possibly last meal at Honest Burger in Reading although we’ve always appreciated the ability for most of the burgers to be made GF and usually a GF beer on tap or at least an option in cans, on our last visit we were both ill. We chose different burgers 1 chicken and 1 beef with rosemary fries as sides. We had not really eaten much else that day but within the next 1 2 hours we were both feeling sick and my wife was unable to work the next day. We are very suspicious that there was contamination even though I have typically been asymptomatic. We don’t want to cast aspersions as previous 2 visits have been fine and plenty of other reviews are positive, but we won’t take the chance again. Would recommend double checking they are avoiding contamination as well as choosing the GF roll for your burger. Aside from this we’ve also reflected that £40 for 2 burgers and fries 2 beers is pretty expensive even for in theory a high end burger."

Amazing gf burgers! Everything on the menu can be made gluten free. They have separate space in the kitchen to prepare gf food. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Voir le carte

The restaurant offers excellent food and service. They are completely gluten-free, and you can pay an extra 30p to change your bun. All sides and other menu items can also be made gluten-free, including beers. Voir le carte

The whole menu is gluten free by default. The only thing containing gluten is the normal burger buns. The staff are really careful and well informed. Great burgers too, and the rosemary salted fries are the best ever.

I have dined at Honest Burgers many times over the years, maybe around 15 times, and have never encountered any issues. I have had conversations with them about their cooking techniques and always inquire about any changes when I visit. The majority of their menu is gluten-free, except for the regular bread bun, which greatly reduces the risk of cross-contamination. They don't use any gluten products in their fryer, so the chips and onion rings are safe for consumption. I am extremely sensitive to gluten and now have allergies to dairy and soy, but they have always been accommodating and helpful.
