"The place often is packed. And I don't get why.The interior isn't exactly what you'd look for in a burger place.Sitting outside you are next to a busy street.The burgers are off the wall, but in a tastewise direction that I find unsuitable.And, also on a non-packed night, it requires time, a lot of time, to get one.And when it comes the meat isn't that good.So why is this place packed? Obviously, for capacity, it can only serve a minority. A minority of people who want their burger, an American dish to begin with, to taste as Bavarian or Austrian or French as it gets. I just don't get it. But I don't have to, I won't go again."

Nice concept, good lunch deal with side dish, cold and hot drink. Salad and fries were good, but the burger was a disappointment. Nothing special, thin and dry.

I had a burger with mushrooms and three pepper sauces along with sweet potato fries. My daughter had a nice salad. This is a small chain restaurant in Germany which is very good.

excellent service!! everything was tasty and very carefully prepared.. we have had freshly cut salad , fries and burgers that were juicy as hell!! brilliant!! a must visit whilst in Essen! Voir le carte

Very nice place to eat, good hamburger, I like that you can customise you Hamburger. Also there are many choises of hamburger and sauces, so everyone can find something that he likes! Sweet potato fries are the beeeest!!!

It was very busy the Sunday we visited but the waitress found us a table after a few mins. The food was tasty and the meal deal of burger, chips and cocktail was decent value for money. Not my favourite burger place but good enough when so many places are closed on a Sunday.

They are opening quite a few more restaurants recently. The burger varieties are good and the cocktails as well are very tasty. It is a concept of restaurant/bar kind of where you can eat and have a drink in a casual atmosphere with good background music. Not a tradicional burger place. Voir le carte

Great Vegetarian and Vegan Burgers! And ofcourse the non vego burgers are also excellent. Layed back atmosphere with nice and friendly waiters. Super delicious french fries (pommes). Excellent drinks as well. It seems like its a very successful chain restaurant in Germany. Their menu is one of a kind. A must go if you've never tried it!

I like Hans im Glück because there are no disappointments with wonderful meat, nice cold beer and a variety of sauces! I recommend the avocado burger and ordering the meat with a pepper crust! Fresh and tasty! I like the ambiente with the trees. The only thing to be improved - please hot water in the bathrooms! Service was ok, but nothing special. It looks like they prefer serving to locals first than to foreigners, but we could live with that.
