"The Gut Knittkuhle Restaurant is very cozy, which was not really what we expected. Instead of white tablecloths, we relaxed on rustic wood furniture that you might find up in one’s attic. At our reserved table, the waiter was at first somewhat overworked, which he...made up for with his charm. He was very nice and attentive. Our waiter came at optimal intervals to ask, if everything was alright, or if we needed something else. The drinks were OK, but we came for the food. The Soup and Salad were sensational and for starters, more than enough. The Roast Beef with Lyonnaise Potatoes were also perfect. The Remoulade Sauce was diffidently homemade and extremely delicious. The quality of the Meat was just right. There was nothing to complain about. Price level, a bit on the high side, but you are paying for quality."

We had visited this restaurant many times and each time the food was outstanding ! But....the service depends on the person who will do it,sometimes we were lucky with good friendly an fast service , but sometimes it's a disaster ! But the terrace,if sunny,makes you forget such a service..

We order dinner, but as we were sitting right in front of the kitchen we could see the long list of orders. We waited or 1 1/2 hours before we got up and asked to pay for our drinks. Nobody ever came to tell us that there was a problem. There wasn't one mention of the word, apology. Bad service, they are trying to serve more than the kitchen can prepare. We will definitely won't go back. If you go be ready to wait.

I went to Gut Knittkuhle with friends to enjoy the Biergarten. It was saturday and there were also two wedding partys. Unfortinately the service was very slow, unfriendly and they seemed to be not very professionell. Waited about 20 minutes for drinks... food was good...but not for the price they demanded. I felt sorry for the wedding guys and we won't go there again. For that price class and what they show on there homepage, they have to do much better.

Had a lunch here because the place is about 5 min. drive from the mototway A 3 and a lot of parking places provided. The weather was good - so it was possible to sit outside.It took quite a while that we were recognised by the service (in fact: I went inside to catchsomebody). It took too much time to get the lunch (Wiener Schnitzel and Sauerbraten).The meals were of good quality but the service was lazy. The price for the drinks was to much the price for the food was ok. Wouldnt go there again.

We have utilised this restaurant a few times in the evening due to its proximity to our Dusseldorf office.In my experience the quality of the food has been high, but I can sympathise with the previous comments regarding the service levels. When seated in the section close to the kitchen you can watch the chefs working hard preparing the courses from fresh, but the speed of delivery doesn’t seem to alter depending on how busy the restaurant is, so therefore it’s not the type of place I would recommend to dine if you are in a hurry.
