"My wife (Gina) and I were in Nailsworth for a friend's 60th party. 2 hour drive away. Staying in a hotel nearby. While in the town we thought we'd grab a bite somewhere before going to see Forest Green Rovers play. Kids are now pretty much grown up and budget is not the issue it once was; we wanted some where with a nice atmosphere, with good food where we could wile away a couple of hours before going to the match. Giuseppe's fitted the bill perfectly. Guiseppe and his wife (lovely and very chatty [in a great way] lady) work really well together and it was really nice to have a chat with Guiseppe himself about Italy and his love of AC Milan. We didn't want to leave. Everything about the place just added to our weekend. Lovely chilled bottle of house Italian white, prawns for starters, I had mackerel while Gina had the special pasta dish of the day and I had cheese and a cheeky glass of port and Gina had the profiteroles for pudding. All was lovingly prepared and presented. I'm a believer in you get what you pay for and I considered the whole experience to be great value. The food was just delicious, the setting super, lots of space around our table and as Gina and I reach that time of life where we have more time to spend together we'd love to come back. My only regret is that I didn't get the manageresses name, I wish I did. I'd have liked to have thanked Guiseppe and her personally. Brilliant to have an Italian food cooked authentically. We were a group of 12 with youngsters of 6 to 15 which were very friendly catered for. An excellent menu. Good food delivered with excellent. The wine also was excellent. All at a reasonable price.

Visited for midweek lunch with friends who are regulars. Had booked. Quirky location. Not for you if you are a fan of restaurant chains and want a set regular menu. Expect last minute changes and substitutions but that is part of the experience. Food was great and very warm friendly service. Not cheap but not your everyday place. Recommended.
