"gillam didn't deserve your need. the owner was very rude to me with at least 2 places, and I will not go back. Although the young people there have always been very pleasant to work there, there is an older waitress that appears as glum as the owner, although if he were my boss, I would be right down in the müll. he clearly never heard that the customer is always right and had once a argument with a friend of mine because she wanted unsweetened soy milk in her tee (he could have been getting a bit drunken instead) in recent years there were times when it was outside warmer than in this tee room (maybe it was the frostiness of the owner). He also insisted that men's masks be worn, even if they were free, and if there was no governmental requirement for it. instead of being able to search for a seat without chaperone, they must now be behind a barrier (e.g. being worshiped by the owner) before they are admitted and have no seat of their choice. gilliams website says that the teestubes offer the same quality and service for which the Gilliam family is famous, but in my experience, this could not be any further from the truth. if the owner can afford to treat people so appalling, he obviously invites all the remaining customers he has much too much money."

a fully vegetarian caffe with many vegan options hard to choose! I had a vegan hot chocolate (so good would definitely recommend it! and a vegan fruit cannon with jam (can not say the difference between vegan and not for this). Voir le carte

Lovely vegan food in the cafe, including excellent scones. I particularly recommended hot malted oat milk not on the menu but they have malted coffee and I asked for it without the coffee... delish. The shop is great, too, lots of vegan treats and deli items. The cafe's not cheap but a lot of their ingredients are organic so happy to pay more for that.

What an incredible spot! It's a café and deli/shop combined. The fresh food is delicious, with a fantastic variety of hot and cold dishes. All the products are of excellent quality, with an emphasis on organic options. The staff is friendly and attentive, and there's a large garden to enjoy. Plus, it's dog-friendly! What’s not to love? I wouldn't recommend anywhere else in the Lakes.

"Pre booked a table online as I wanted the table for a family retirement meal for my Mum, added into the comments a request to have a couple of bottles of fizz and sharing dessert for our party (which nobody acknowledged), I called a couple of days before to arrange this and pay upfront, I was told we would have two bottles of fizz and 6 glasses ready for us on the table on arrival we didn 't why? Awkward as then the waitress is coming over asking what we want to order to drink I was planning on surprising my Mum with the fizz. Sharing dessert I 'm not sure if there was a miscommunication between us as when it arrived after the meal I 'd question how many people were sharing the dessert. I 've been to the Farmers plenty over the years for food and it 's always been pretty decent, it 's always a good atmosphere etc. Unfortunately on this occasion the food was pretty poor. Two of us ordered the 'tandoori ' chicken kebabs so bland, I 'd question whether the chicken had ever seen any sort of marinade/spice mix. Rice was tasteless and there was a pitiful number of chips for a 'half half ' portion. Mussels again commented on the portion of chips served on the side tight. Fish dish was small but aren 't they always and the Cajun chicken and brisket meals were fine. A shame overall as like I said it 's always a good atmosphere and it is a nice place interior wise. I wouldn 't rush back unfortunately."
