"My family and myself travelled to this establishment on my birthday , when approaching I could see a small group of people outside so I demmed this an excellent sign of great food . Had trouble parking and left it on the side of...the road after trips around , we then left the car and walked around to the front entrance ,we were quicky seated and told to use the qr code to find the menu .The thing with the qr code is it's great but if your don't have it that can be a pain surely a few laminated menus that got cleaned would be easier but I digress . When looking at the brunch menu I thought it was bit lacking this place services a rather heavily loaded breakfast menu with a few lunch items like maybe , so out of all the breakfast choices I actually found it hard to choose as it was and didn't fancy porridge or granola or scrambled egg (which was on two dishes )I opted for a breakfast bap bacon black pud and fried eggs in a brioche bap with ballymaloe relish my partner had chicken Parma done like a chicken burger and my daughter had a sausage roll and fries ...The breakfast was cooked lovely couldnt complain the only thing I didn't like was the edition off mayo in my bun thought it was pointless and made it somewhat cloying in the mouth the chicken burger and sausage roll were fine also but I followed the brunch chef on Instagram and seen such lovely food like the Cuban /Reuben sandwich ,bao bun with chilli chicken and all sorta of lovely items which wasn't on the menu .....AND NOT ONE SAUASGE ,other than sauage roll surely a bunch place should have a killer SAUASGE like a rare breed pork one or some American hot links or something of interest sadly it didn't !!!"

Friendly staff and good atmosphere. Some different menu items available to the usual stuff and everything was delicious. Loved the homemade beans.

Sister restaurant to the GM on Ormeau Road, this is an equally lovely stylish brunch/lunch spot in Belfast. Staffed by the friendliest waiter, we ordered the chicken bulgur salad, the hash and eggs, all of which was genuinely spectacular. I live in London...and I wish they had a branch there it’s second to none.

The customer service at this restaurant was awful! A rude man greeted me at the entrance and although he said he had a suitable table for me, I ended up waiting for over a year before being told it wasn't his fault that I hadn't been seated yet. I was then told to wait outside! No thank you! I will not be returning. Voir le carte

My sister was unable to bring her stroller inside the restaurant for her baby, and was told to leave it outside without proper storage. Despite asking for an explanation, no one provided one and the staff refused to open the door until the stroller was removed. Furthermore, the QR scanner on my phone was not working, so I requested a paper menu from a waitress or asked for assistance in placing an order, only to be told that I had to use the QR scanner. I will not be returning to this restaurant.

I was walking in the area and was going to get a takeaway coffee but noticed they had some spare tables. I decided instead to sit in and I'm glad I did. I had a really nice bowl of porridge, cooked the way I like it,...not too dry , with some honey poured over it it was perfect as were the scrambled eggs. There was a nice atmosphere about the place, it's small and offers some outside seating although at this time of year it's not recommended. Staff were also very friendly and seemed happy in their job. If you are walking in the area this is a great place for a pit stop.

Only just discovered this place, and it’s a find. Be warned – it’s popular, and not very big, so you may have to queue outside for a while. It’s worth it. We’ve been twice now, and found the food, surroundings, and staff delightful. I walked...out with a smile on my face. Dishes sampled so far have been Huevos Rotos, Champiñón (twice), and Korean Dip. Dying of the supercold here, so can’t be my normal effusive self, going on for pages – just read the menu and you’ll get an idea of the treats in store for you. Everything is perfectly cooked, and very tasty. The coffee is good too, and there are various packages of chutneys, teas, coffees etc on the shelves to buy. This combination of imaginat... For many years I struggled to find a restaurant serving a decent breakfast. That search ended when I, fortunately, found General Merchants east Belfast. What’s even more satisfying is that the trendy eatery, situated in a leafy part of East Belfast, is practically on my...doorstep. Situated on the Upper Newtownards Road, General Merchants East is impressive for the excellent quality and incredible consistency of both food and service. The staff are amiable and attentive, and the welcoming manager Mike runs a great ship. The best five-star hotel couldn’t match the food at GM. Even during the lockdown, the carry-out food remained at the same high standard – a commendable achievement given the...

I visited this facility last week with two friends. when we set ourselves, we were asked to sit on three chairs in the window. these seats are really not ideal, especially when ordering means of life, since this particular sitting area is very confined. we asked the staff as if we could sit, we could move to a normal table when one was available, and we were initially told that this would not be a problem from a worker. then another table was made available and a waitress told us we could move. we are on the way, and then a male worker came by and told us that we could not move as we were sitting. he was rude and he was not accommodating. I appreciate that it was a busy day in the day we too...

"enjoyed our evening in james st it was the best culinary experience of our trip! we had been happy to see this evening as we had a few hit-N-seals in the course of our trip to belfast. we were not disappointed and had the fabulous evening. we were quickly welcomed and sitting. the place is beautiful and spacious. revitalized and environment. the bar is great and would like to come back, only for drinks at the bar sometime. we ordered cocktails immediately. an Irish gin negroni and a traditional old fashion. my neger was absolutely excellent. I think the old fashion could have been done with real sugar cubes and not sugar syrup, but it wasn't too bad. we were quick to choose our wein. we chose a beautiful juicy red, the cline, the old vine zinfandel, 2019. to begin we had the ham hock terrine with piccalilli champ bread and some scallops with boar bell. the hanging-hock court was the best ham-hock I had. the homemade piccalilli was something else. really nice crispy and sharp sharp to help cut through the hammock and the champbrot was delicious crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. the scallops and black bells were disappointing, as they lacked no salt or genuine aroma or texture between them. we still ate it and shared the rest of my hammock. we both decided to go for the co. tyrone 270g fillet steak with sides of champ and truffle parmesan chips. red wine and pfeffer sauce. they were fantastic steaks. Actually, I didn't think I would finish mine, but I did. I have met the right choice with the jus and the truffle chips. they went so well together, the dryness of the parmesan and sweet, slightly greasy of the jus. the steaks were perfectly cooked. a medium and my medium rare. fantastic aroma on the grilled outside of the steak and beautiful texture when they pierce. we both agreed that the champ was the best champ we ever cost. it was hot, soft, so well aromatized with hot butter on the top of the copper serving pot melt. it was really the most incredible champ. I was too full of dessert. but my sample ordered the sticky toffee pudding sundae. the team was friendly enough to make me an espresso martini that was both decaf and not a sugar syrup. it was brilliant. we both managed to work our way, although a surprisingly light sticky toast desserts on Sunday. the team was fantastic. very friendly and chatting to us. the bar team did not stop, I had the pleasure of standing and watching them make a great selection of drinks and cocktails. the waiting staff were also very friendly when they check in with us at comfortable places to ensure that we were in order. we felt very well looked around. the service was very good, we didn't feel any hurry, it felt like such a free time in this restaurant. when we come back to belfast, we will be back in absolute terms and we will definitely recommend others. Thank you."
