"This is where the locals eat and in Baveria, that means everything. You can't beat the value or quality of this family run restaurant. Most meals are in the to euro mark and sumptuous. My photo is of a simple tuna salad but...both the salad and chuncks of tuna were excellent, executed with mini bread sticks for added panache. Friendly staff, with at least one person seaking English, and good house wine. The menu covers salads, steaks, poultry, fish and pizza. As an added bonus, you can walk off the calories with a nature walk in the adjoining park. The water exercise, for feet, ankles and lower leg circulation in water, is a must!"

"Finding the Hocheck was a little bit of an exercise, since it sits somewhat above the entry road, accessed by a steep driveway. Once we'd found it, we realized that the name, which means high corner was quite appropriate. We found a parking place with...no problem in front. It was early in the evening, so the restaurant wasn't crowded. The decor was very traditional and cozy, and more rustic than most we'd been in. It had by the entry door what seemed to be one of those old large German household ceramic heating stoves. The waiter was helpful and friendly, and he spoke English well enough. The menus were bound, interestingly, in wooden boards, and there were English-language menus available too. We ordered a variety of plates; schnitzel, cordon bleu, schweinsbraten, and a bauerngroestl. The schweinsbraten was very tasty, and it along with an extra side of spaetzle, was indeed a full meal. Dinner for four was a very reasonable Euros, including water, tea, and soft drinks. And bonus! it began to snow again outside while we were eating (this was on May We were all-around pleased with the Hocheck and will make sure to return there during our next visit to the area."

"Nach einer Besichtigung der Wimbachklamm unternahmen wir eine Wanderung zum Wimbachschloß. Es ist kein Schloß, sondern ein ehemaliges Jagdschloß von Prinzregend Luitpold, gelegen auf 937 m. Wir bestellten köstlichen Apfelstrudel mit Schlagobers oder Vanillesoße und Kaffee. Die Servicekraft war sehr freundlich. Die Coronaregeln wurden von allen Besuchern/Service eingehalten. Sehr zu empfehlen."
