"We envy Haibach around this attraction. Perfect price-performance ratio, very tasty fresh food and the services and the cooks are therefore flink (without spreading hectic). Such a service and such a professional organization are no longer experienced. Here some gastronomy should look. Would also give 10 stars."

"The restaurant of the Landhotel Klingerhof two miles away, our base, was closed and the receptionist recommended the Old Church in nearby Haibach, a pretty village in the valley below. It was almost full, and that at on a Sunday evening a good...sign! The place looked quite authentic, an impression re-inforced by the realisation that many locals were eating there. A friendly young waitress brought us a quite extensive menu in German only and we opted for a carafe of what we were told was a dry white housewine at a moderate price whilst we perused it. Neither of us found the wine dry and it was exchanged for another one without fuss, this time dry. I opted for the onion soup. My wife wanted a small tuna salad as a starter and sensibly suggested we should order our main course later, having seen the size of portions on other tables. My steaming soup arrived first, served in a big bowl; just as well it was so hot that I had to wait because it took some time for her salad to arrive. A starter salad? It was enormous, very fresh and delicious! Outgoing diners had to pass our table and we noticed that nearly all had a ‘doggy bag’ – it seemed to be taken for granted that most would be defeated by the amount of food and cardboard boxes to take uneaten food home were provided as if it was a matter of course. Our first course would have been enough but I felt a bit guilty, ordered some more wine, then agreed with my wife that we would order a Wiener Schnitzel (her choice) to be shared between us. A large plate with two schnitzels, French fries and salad arrived. We just could not do the contents justice (the food tasted fine and managed to eat just about a quarter between us. I had to explain to the waitress that there was nothing wrong with the food – on the contrary – and she immediately asked if we wanted a box to take the rest with us, an offer we declined. For two sizable first courses, basket of bread, a gigantic main course and ¾ litres of a very acceptable house wine the bill came to Euros!...This was quantity paired with quality at a give-away price!"

"Zum Glück gabs die Empfehlung eines Freundes. Das Restaurant/Hotel liegt etwas versteckt in einer weniger befahrenen Straße im Ortskern von Haibach. Sehr ansprechendes Haus mit angenehmem Ambiente. Stilvolle Einrichtung auf gehobenem Niveau. Super freundlicher und kompetenter Service. Die Küche steht dem in nichts nach. Geschmacklich einfach spitze und äußerst gekonnt angerichtet und serviert. Die übersichtliche Speisekarte mit regionalen als auch internationalen Gerichten bietet für jeden geschmack eine Auswahl und wird ergänzt durch ein Tagesangebot und natürlich jetzt, einer "Spargelkarte". Wir hatten uns entschieden für Seinköhler an Rahmsellerie , grünem Spargel und Thymiankartoffel, sowie Rumpsteak von fränkischen Weiderind mit köstlichen Bratkartoffeln und einem knackig frischen Frühlingssalat. Alles einfach köstlich und fein abgestimmt. Dazu wohltemperierte Frankenweine (Silvaner und Bacchus)und zum Abschluß duftender Espresso. Ca. 60 Euro hierfür bestätigen das stimmige Preis/Leistungsverhältnis. Dies war mit Sicherheit nicht unser letzter Besuch. Dank dieser Empfehlung ist mein "Freund" um eine Stufe höher, nämlich zum "guten Freund" aufgestiegen."

"Super Local, great food and great staff! Even in the current time, no one has to miss out on the delicious food of the Klosterschänke, through the offer of the pick-up service. Otherwise we sat happy on the terrace and have eaten now we sit at home happy on the sofa and enjoy our food! We look forward to seeing you soon!"
