The couple received their starter, enjoyed it, and we expected our main courses to arrive shortly after. However, that didn’t happen! Once their plates were cleared, they were served their main courses while we continued to wait. It wasn't until 6:50 that we finally got our food. I'm confused by this; it felt as though we were being penalized for not ordering a starter. Is this how restaurants typically operate? The meal itself was lovely when it finally arrived, but the overall experience was quite disappointing."

Lovely food and very good wine. We tried the pre-ordered beef wellington for two which was amazing and plentiful. Starter of chicken liver parfait very good too. We all tried something different and they were all very good. We have joined the dining club for locals which gives you 20% off your food, which was exceptionally good value. Will dine again. Hope this new dining venture succeeds.

As for our stay at the hotel, the Thursday breakfast was excellent, with attentive service. However, Friday’s breakfast was quite disappointing. When we arrived at our table, the waitress seemed more focused on cleaning than taking our order. Our tea and toast were served after the main dishes, which took a while to arrive. We waited for 30 minutes before the end of service, and by then, the bacon and sausage were overcooked. It was a stark contrast to the previous day’s experience.
