After having some negative experiences in the past, we stopped going to Fuckle Mermaid about 3 years ago. However, after hearing positive feedback from friends and reading better reviews recently, we decided to give the Fuckle Mermaid another chance. We were pleasantly surprised. The staff was very friendly and attentive, and the meal was really good. Well done. We will definitely be returning.

The service at this restaurant was very poor. The ambiance of the pub is lovely and the food is enjoyable, but our experience on a Saturday was disappointing. Despite the pub not being very busy, we had to wait a long time for our food. We ordered at 3:30 and didn't receive our starter until 4:10. Even after asking about our main at 4:30, we still had to wait. The staff member we asked never returned to update us. When our food finally arrived, there was no apology for the wait, no offer of cutlery, and no inquiry about our needs. The staff simply placed the food on our table and walked away. Overall, we were not satisfied with the service and will not be returning to eat here.

I have visited this restaurant several times in the past and have always enjoyed my meals. However, my experience today was very disappointing. We ordered the 2-course Sunday lunch and were disappointed to find that the stuffing was rock hard slabs that did not resemble stuffing at all. We immediately sent it back. Additionally, there was only a small amount of gravy on the dinner, so I requested extra gravy but never received it. Our table was not cleared, and we never received our desserts. After waiting for 40 minutes, I had to go to the bar to ask for a refund on the desserts. The staff member behind the bar was busy but could have been more polite.
