"1,000% recommend!! I visited this charming, wonderful grotto with my family back in August, and it was one of the best restaurant experiences of our lives! The setting is just perfect warm and storybooklike. From the moment we arrived, Roberto was so welcoming. It was great talking with him! His wife Christina's food is absolutely divine. Every dish wowed us! I especially loved the apple gorgonzola risotto and the cheesecake. At the end of the meal, Roberto gave us samples of their limoncello which was such a fun conclusion to our amazing night. I highly reccomend Grotto Castagneto to anyone in the Lugano area!"

"Yet another confirmation of the excellent all-round quality of this temple of the art of cooking (in fact the name refers to the works of art on display but I would dedicate it to the literally artistic creativity of continually creating extraordinary dishes. What 's more, with a brand new, exceptional, vegan menu, respecting individual sensitivities and the environment. Every time I conclude a meal, even after so many years, I find myself amazed by Master Oertle 's imagination: there is not a single time that it is repeated, whether it 's pasta, risotto, meat or fish and now even vegan. It 's a dream journey between one sensation and another, a whirlwind of aromas, flavours, visions of dishes that are new and different each time. The combinations between one matter and its side dishes are always fun for the palate and the eyes. Last night two hours flew by between a pre-appetizer and an appetizer then another taste of a different dish and then moving on to another dish and so on until the amazing desserts. All seasoned with high or very high quality wines (but you can also drink them at reasonable prices), thanks to a historic, proven and affably professional staff. Marvelous."

"We originally went to the place to takeaway pizza but ended up staying the evening. We had 3 pizzas and everything was amazing, one of our boys said it was the best pizza he ever had (Buffalo . "Durch Corona leider lange Zeit verhindert hier einzukehren. Jetzt spontan von der Ostschweiz ins Tessin gefahren und endlich wieder einmal diese aussergewöhnliche Küche zu geniessen. Jedesmal der Hammer mit total neuen und spannenden Symphonien. Wieso dieses junge motivierte und kreative Team weder im Gault Mil oder Michelin Aufnahme findet kann ich nicht verstehen. Lassen Sie sich überraschen. Das Menü mit 5 verschiedenen interessanten Weinen hat total überzeugt."

"Wir waren als Familie dort und haben sehr gut gegessen. Leider war die Location zu dieser Jahreszeit etwas zu kühl. Wir sassen am Anfang mit Jacken am Tisch. Der grosse Kamin wurde angefeuert und im Laufe des Abends war es dann ok, jedoch nie so warm, dass man hätte sagen können „gemütlich“ .... schade. Die Bedingung war sehr nett, servierte jedoch auch in Jacke. Ich würde im Sommer sicher noch einmal wieder kommen. Der Blick von der Weinreben bedeckten Terrasse, über den See nach Lugano, ist wunderschön."
