Have not been to Gloucester for years and never eaten at this restaurant before. We both enjoyed our beef skewers and the chocolate fondant dessert was delicious; but what struck us was how friendly the staff were.

visited here with friends ordered a round hot drinks, came out of stone cold. they changed it without quibble. we sat in front and ignored. we could have just walked without paying that I had to go and find the bill.

Been to this establishment a few times and keep coming back every time we visit Gloucester Quays. Great food at value for money prices at a lovely setting by the water. Staff are always attentive and cannot do enough for the customer. See you again Coal Kitchen. Voir le carte

We did not make a reservation and it was a bustling Friday evening, but the manager went out of their way to find us a table. The ambiance was great and our waitress was incredibly helpful and kind. We had a delicious meal and felt welcomed and valued as customers.

The service was good: the waitress was very kind and nice. The food was terrible. Very low quality meat. We took tacos and were not fresh at all… the meat from the burgers was over cooked and very poor quality. My husband took a steak and asked for rare but came over cooked and they kindly change it but was all chewy and very bad quality. Same for the taste of old oil on the fries…

Our party of 7 had a fabulous experience at this restaurant. The service was great and the food was delicious. The manager even managed to seat us 30 minutes before our reservation on a busy weekend. We enjoyed some amazing festive cocktails and were pleasantly surprised to find out that Prosecco was available by the large bottle, despite not being on the drinks menu. We visited Saturday early afternoon but it wasn't very busy. Unfortunately we were seated next to a group enjoying countless drinks (bottomless brunch? and they were loud and, as the drink flowed so did the language! When there are lots of empty tables, try to keep the noisy ones separate! The food was nice but not quite to the same standard as our previous visits. The skewers used to hang and have a greater variety on them. We also had to wait a long time for our desserts.

had a great lunch here yesterday. we were very warmly welcomed and sitting with a view of the docks. I will also notice that the space between the tables was really comfortable. the menu had a lot of tasty sounding food, all at a reasonable price. the children's menu was excellent (start, head, side, pudding and drinking for and they even delivered my daughter with crayons and coloring, just such a beautiful note. the food was absolutely delicious and everyone was satisfied with its meals and drinks. I had the bark filetskewer; so delicious and delicate and cooked for perfection. Too bad we don't get the names of the lady who served us when she was so nice.

The visit started off well. The guy who seated us, seemingly the manager, was great. The people skills were there and he helped my colleague with their gluten-free options with a thorough run through of the menu. Very happy, and the menu looks good. Our server arrived, and when asked ‘what size’ the cokes on draft are, he proceeds to estimate the size of the glass with his hands (which well exceeds even a Johnny Depp mega pint). On arrival, it turns out the size was what seems like 330ml, and there was a mix-up with our cokes/diet cokes which the server had to sort, before returning to our tables with two wet glasses, which left our table in a state as it was on a slight slope.
