"Lovely building in a Scots Baronial style, Balhousie Castle is the Regimental Headquarters of The Black Watch, 3rd Battalion, Royal Regiment of Scotland (3 SCOTS) and has some fantastic galleries and exhibitions within, including eight Victoria Crosses and the stories of them. There's also a very poignant reflection room with names on the wall of all the fallen men of the Black Watch that can easily bring a tear to an eye. Right now they have a secondary exhibition on entwined with the normal galleries of various models of Scottish buildings and articles of a Scottish nature built out of lego. A large, bright and airy cafe that seemed very popular and, although we didn't eat there, the smells of the food went round my heart like a hairy worm. A must visit if you're in Perth or indeed if you live in Perth and have never been. Nemo me impune lacessit"

Friendly atmosphere, however suboptimal service for a restaurant was a let down.

Nice castle. Very good organised one-way system. A lot of useful information. There is also an opportunity to have a nice coffee or lunch.

Such a rich history! Take the guided tour it’s worth it. A family member was with the Black Watch in WWII , they took us to the archives upstairs to find personal references of commissioned ranks! A must to see if you are into history.

excellent place to visit and received a warm greeting from the dame at the reception when we first arrived. great displays and a beautiful gift shop. the plots are beautiful and have seats for visitors to have their refreshments. there is a elevator and toilets before location.

This place was amazing. Super friendly women serving us. Spotted a few things to buy even before I started the tour, and she remembered me saying I wanted a scarf and bless her see held one over for me. The tour was very informative and moving plus you couldspend as much time as you wanted looking at the collections. Left with beautiful memories. Would definitely recommend people going to visit this gem of place

the black watch museum is really a single experience. they have to visit the museum, then enjoy the wonderful restaurant. I visited on Tuesday and it was quite busy, I paid £10 for the museum that is a day ticket so that they can do the tour on the same day again. the dame in the service advised me to book a table in the restaurant before I started my tour, which proved to be very good advice. the museum is great, I went twice to try to take the information and history associated with the black watch. after my doubleour I then enjoyed a beautiful meal in the restaurant. if they like history, they will love this place, it is brilliant. I also found the staff very friendly and helpful.

"Pleasant environment and staff were efficient. I ordered the special ciabatta with chicken and bacon, alongside a flat white coffee. The ciabatta seemed a little on the small side to me, though in observing the other clientele, I was probably a little out of place to be honest that includes my appetite. In my opinion Willows seems more geared towards 'ladies who lunch ', high teas maybe, or cocktails before the theatre. I 'm more of a messy plate of dirty fries with a burger kind of guy... if you know what I mean, and I certainly don 't mean any disrespect with that observation. The ciabatta was good and flavourful. The salad was very good and varied, the dressing was nice and rich too. I enjoyed the coffee and the final price, between 10 and 11 pounds was reasonable and expected. Accessibility wise, there is seating outdoors but there are steps inside to reach other parts of the restaurant. The chairs and tables may turn into obstacles for wheelchair users, particularly solo users, because they are quite close together. I 'd recommend booking ahead to help the staff prepare a good table if you have any accessibility requirements. Personally, I did feel a little out of place at Willows, but that was more of an observation than any true feeling of discomfort. I will keep Willows in mind if I go to lunch with a girl I want to impress, for example, and I 'd definitely recommend it for anyone wanting afternoon coffee, cakes, or a cocktail before the theatre etc."
