Nice restaurant serving portugese food, especially good seafood. Moderate prices, friendly and quick service, and very tasty food.

After many years, I finally got a chance to return to this Portuguese restaurant, and I was not disappointed. The food was still good, the service still friendly. Especially seafood lovers will find the menu enticing, but meat-eaters and vegetarians alike need not go hungry...either.

We couldn’t make better choice to celebrate. The food was excellent including wine and desert. A Cataplana that reminded us our good times in Portugal. The kindness of the waitresses also at his top. Unfassbar, dass es für Carlos Caravela hier noch keine Bewertung gibt. Waren schon zum wiederholten Male hier, und kaum ist man drin, breitet sich Wohlbehagen aus. Alles unaufdringlich stimmig, kein Schnickschnack und trotzdem authentisch. Die Tapas, die wir probiert haben sind durchweg lecker und mit der richtigen Zusammenstellung kann man abwechslungsreich schlemmen ohne zu tief ins Portemonnaie greifen zu müssen. Die Bedienung ist aufmerksam und freundlich ohne servil zu sein. Perfekt für einen Abend mir Freunden oder einen späten Tapas-Snack zu zweit mit einem Glas Wein.

I went there with a few friends and not only was the service really bad we also all fell ill. They didn't have three types of fish they offered on the menu and the waitress failed to tell us each time. A few minutes after...finishing eating the first person had to run to the bathroom and later in the evening everybody had to leave because they were feeling quite sick. I will spare you the details. The food wasn't amazing either. Just standard cooked fish. Mine was over salted and the others weren't too impressed either. So in short, bad service and really bad quality fish. If you don't want to spend all night in the toilet I would suggest not to visit this place.

I've gone there several times with my husband as well as with friends. Most of all, I enjoy eating fish there. They always have a good selection of sea fish rare enough in Berlin and if you want, you can check it out...at a show freezer in the restaurant, before it is picked up by the cook. I can recommend the tuna, prepared in different ways, and last time I had a terrific gilt-head bream. My husband, who doesn't eat fish, really enjoys the chicken piri-piri (spicy I wish they had a bigger choice of desserts though (unfortunately they no longer serve pasteis de nata).
