"Hats off to the management and staff of Cantinetta for truly earning this one-star review from me. It was a team effort that I felt deserved recognition. We had guests from out of town and it was up to us to pick a restaurant that showcased the best of Crosby (according to Google reviews). We were a party of 10 who had reserved a table for Saturday evening with plenty of time to prepare and even pre-order if needed. Upon arrival, we were seated and given the drink menu. Unfortunately, the staff took 40 minutes before taking our drink orders, despite reminders. They seemed to make excuses rather than fulfill their duties. We should have probably left at that point, but we stayed. The food that was eventually served was inedible, particularly the Bruschettas which were popular choices for starters. There were delays in serving the main dishes as well, with some younger guests jokingly starting to eat the table. Thankfully, the main meals were of decent quality once served, but the service lacked any apologies or acknowledgment of our dissatisfaction. When we spoke to the manager about our experience, he seemed indifferent. This lack of care or apologies for a subpar experience on their part is the reason for this one-star review. Everyone has an off night, but the indifference to customer satisfaction shown by Cantinetta was truly remarkable.Service: Dine inMeal type: DinnerPrice per person: £30-40Food: 2Service: 1Atmosphere: 2"

We’ve been going since it opened. Today they excelled themselves. A fabulous starter of scallops on an asparagus cream with crispy bacon and two excellent pasta dishes. And great service. Grazie mille amici Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The restaurant offers a delicious variety of Italian dishes. The staff and management are friendly and accommodating. The location is convenient, close to the car park and local bus routes. Dining in for dinner, the price per person ranges from £30 to £40. The food, service, and atmosphere are all rated a perfect 5. There is plenty of parking available.

Been past quite a few times, but finally visited for a Saturday evening meal. Staff were fantastic, but the food was absolutely on another level. Amazing!!! And I used to run an Italian restaurant kitchen in Bath in the 90s. This is our new go to, when we can't get to Rome. Well done all. Good quality fresh Italian food. with a professional and friendly service. Atmosphere was relaxed with some buddah bar type lounge music. The only reason atmosphere is 3 stars is because we ate early , at 3pm as we were headed out later. Next time we'll go for an evening experience. Reasonably priced .... under £70 for bread and olives, 1 round of drinks , 2 starters and 2 good mains . Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £60–70 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3 Recommended dishes: Carbonara

I did not have a great experience at this restaurant. The prawn risotto had only 4 prawns and was dry and flavorless. It would have been better with some herbs for garnish. I had to wait over 45 minutes between my starter and main course. Despite it being an Italian restaurant, there was no Italian music playing in the background. The staff were friendly, but I would not choose to dine here again. Overall, the service and food were rated as a 2 out of 5, while the atmosphere was a 3 out of 5. The price per person for dinner was between £30-40.

"Title says it all really. I've been here 3 times for lunch which was nice and after encouraging my meat eating husband to give it a try I was gutted it turned out like this. We do a 5k walk on a Saturday morning and stopped here half way. We waited as, the sign said, to be sat down...in the end I shouted over to one of the girls if it was ok to sit anywhere. We sat down and after about a 10 minute wait ordered coffees. The waitress, without being unkind, was a bit surly but hey ho, most of the tables (but still only 4 tables) were in use so just thought they were a bit busier than usual. Coffee came, ordered poached eggs on toast and a small veggie brekkie (which is £7.80 by the way so not cheap). We then waited...and waited. Others too were sat there wondering where their orders were, you could see people looking over to the counter. No one came over and apologised for the wait or asked us if we wanted anything else to drink. It got to the point when we were going to walk out...literally an hour later...when our breakfast turned up. Husband 2 poached eggs...1 piece of toast. Mine...(and I know it was a small one but remember, it was £7.80) 1 veggie sausage, 2 tiny discs of black pudding...no bigger and not as thick as a 2 quid coin, 1 teaspoon of mushroom, 1 tablespoon of beans, half a slice of toast and a poached egg. It was stone cold. I was going to complain but husband hates fuss so we ate and left. Only after we had paid were we asked if everything was ok. Husband, unusually for him spoke up and said mine was cold. We were offered a take away coffee. He declined. I am really disappointed as i wanted to make this place a regular stop on our walks. The coffee is lovely so that was one plus. Staff could have made this so much easier by apologising to people waiting and offering a refill on the coffees. Not at any time did anyone waiting get approached with an explanation or apology. The small breakfasts are a rip off if that is the regular fare that is served up. It might have been better if it had been hot too. These two orders should take 10-15 mins to serve up. Sorry to say that we won't be going back."
