Canela Cafe - Carte

Been here a few times but this was the first time since the place has been renovated/extended.

As I mentioned in my previous email, Canela was closed when we got there with no explanation. ...

Update since 2012: Now more of a Portuguese restaurant it's definitely looking much more upscale than it did 2 years ago and with prices to match the new Voir le carte

The portion size was tiny for the price. They forgot some of our food and our waiter didn’t speak much English. It’s very pretty in there but we left hungry and poor.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Canela. The food is authentic and very flavoursome, the service is great, and the ambience is just perfect. It felt as if we were in Portugal for a couple of hours. Thank you Canela, we will be back!

The food was very tasty and the staff polite. They didn’t have the Rose we wanted by the bottle so we had 5 glasses instead. They had run out of a few dishes so things were a bit limited as we don’t eat all the options. Generally good and lovely food. Voir le carte

I visited this restaurant last night and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the service was top-notch. The food was absolutely delicious, with a variety of options to choose from. I would highly recommend dining here for a great meal.

The Canela café is permanently closed. Why did OpenTable confirm a midday reservation for a café that no longer exists? I had invited three other people, and it was both disappointing and embarrassing to arrive and discover that the café is not in business. I will be cautious about using OpenTable again.

We made a reservation through OpenTable, but when we arrived at the restaurant, it was closed. They suggested we try Canela, even though there are already multiple reviews stating that it is closed. Very disappointing experience. We had to scramble to find another place to eat when we found the restaurant dark and locked up. Voir le carte
