Advertises itself as open 24 hours through the weekend on its website, and says ‘we are open’ on its door, but staff waved me away at 4.30am on Sunday without any explanation.

We had a great evening at Balans and Richard was our excellent server!!! he didnt skip a beat! our cocktails kept coming and they were delicious!! Thank you Richard for reminding me how fabulous London can be!!

Always the best poached eggs! We don’t live in London but have family here. We always come to Balans for Sunday brunch when we are down. The poached eggs are always perfect. Ever since some knowledgeable staff members left, the quality of this restaurant has significantly decreased. During my first week visiting, I was told they were out of tonic, and then four days later, they ran out of vodka. It makes me question if they even bother placing orders. How difficult is it to walk to the nearby restaurant and ask for supplies? The new staff running this place seem inexperienced and if they're not careful, this once iconic restaurant will suffer in their hands.

I’ve been using this Balans restaurant since 2014. Was an old loyalty card member. Hadn’t been for the last 9 months, working away. Went on Saturday at 5:30pm and the service was truly dreadful. I had to get up from the table look for a menu. After sitting for 10 minutes being ignored, I Twice asked if anyone would take my order, when the food finally arrived was given a knife fork for the prawn linguini had to get up and find my own sugar bowl for my cup of tea. And the linguini was barely eatable. Saturated in lemon juice. And it used to be such good restaurant.

I used to visit Balans quite a lot a few years ago and always found the food good. However today was a big 'fail '. I arrived for breakfast with a friend. The waiter was a nice guy and as I couldn 't see any Vegan food on the breakfast menu, I asked if they had a Vegan breakfast? He replied yes and I awaited its delivery. All I can say is that it was a failed attempt at food. One mushroom, half a tomato, a splodge of baked beans and some chopped fried potatoes, three... I don 't know what to call these... breaded sausage type things all topped off with a slice of toast which arrived with a butter tub on top, which was quickly whisked away and not replaced.
