"This small cute place is hidden from the eye, only waiting to be found. The busy Schlossstrasse, where this cafe is located, is a very lively and busy shopping street in Berlin. Latlely, between the shops we noticed a new and very small/narrow entrance with the sign "Cafe Baier". Curious we got a bit closer to discover a promising menu with interesting breakfasts. The chock hand written board menu outside also said "foie gras" which was shocking considering the lack of good french cuisine (or any good cuisine but Asian) in Berin. Entering the place was even more surprising; very narrow stairs lead to the upper floor which opened to a huge space, unlike the small entrance. Having a baby stroller with us was a huge problem, no elevator so the guys working there helped us. Behind the big bar and the restaurant space, we could enter an outdoor terrace "locked" between houses which the Germans like to call "garden house" bacause they are facing a small garden and not the main road. They offered us a brand new menu with a new cover and it looked quite nice, especially the breakfast and cakes section. We were very disappointed however to discover the foie gras was missing and will be there only next week. As guests we would have appreciated it if they would inform us when handing the menu, and before ordering drinks that it's out, otherwise we would go somewhere else. But the breakfast was very nice with little green onions on the eggs, and some crispy bacon. We also got a cute small basket with a variety of fresh bread. Anyways, for a good break from the busy shopping street it's a nice quiet and tasty intermezzo."
