"Stayed here last night in room 10 after visiting the Magical Woodland at Blakemere Village. Check in to check out was as smooth as could possibly wish for No messing round spoke to a nice girl at the bar who showed us to our room after giving our name, breakfast order sheets given to us with plenty to choose from (Full English was delicious! . Room didn't look anything like the hotels website but this is not a bad thing the room was lovely and had a refurb by the looks of things. Plenty of room for 2 people, lots of lighting and a modern bathroom most of all it was very clean! Have been on a little roadtrip lately staying at a few different hotels (Including Ruthin and Peckforton Castle but this bed was hands down the comfiest we have stayed in, I went out like a light and even debated skipping breakfast as I was so comfy (Glad I didn't, the Scran was amazing and set us up for the day . Check out was simple gave the keys to the housekeeper and said our goodbyes to two ladies. Overall at £60 for a Saturday night with Brekkie and lovely hospitality then i can assure you this place is absolute value for money. If we are ever in the area again then this will be our go to. Side note: was talking to Liz and Ange when we was leaving and happened to mention we have just had a new back garden bar built we were then gifted some glasses/runners and an amazing Sign Board to take home! It's the small things that make amazing memories Honestly book this place and you won't be dissapointed!"

Came to stay here with my partner for 2 nights, the evening food was lovely and the breakfast was great quality, the weather was so hot and we was really worried about being too hot but in our room a fan was provided which we were super pleased with. Highly recommend

Went into the bar to order drinks. Womanhad her back to us doing some administration work. She knew we was there, because there was 4 of us chatting. In the 5 minutes we waited patiently, not once did she turn round to say, will be with you soon. As we decided to leave she turned round and smirked. Definitely will not return. Voir le carte

Great food, the Sunday roast was absolutely delicious. Service was a little slow and we had to go and ask for our drinks a couple of times but the waitress was absolutely lovely we did have a table of 8 at a very busy time. Overall the experience was great and would recommend very good value for money too. Also, we took our dog and they got a doggy Sunday roast too

For value for money this is a brilliant hotel. So pleased with the experience. The room was a good size with en suite that had a nice shower. They included shower gel etc and towels, which was fantastic. They even include a complementary breakfast, which is a nice bonus. Location was good for us. The on site car park was very small and always full whilst here, but there is a free car park minutes away that was absolutely fine. All in all for the price paid a brilliant stay.

We wanted a cheap stay as was just up for a couple of days to see family. Found this via a red letter day voucher we had. Good friendly place, staff were spot on happy to help with any questions. Room was basic but very clean with a on-suite bathroom, TV and tea and coffee making facilities. Came with breakfast which was a full English along with a choice of bread juice etc, all very good quality. Had a couple of drinks in the bar one night really nice staff happy to chat. Overall very pleased given five stars based on value for money and overall cleanliness. If you are after a good value place to stay give them a try really good staff Voir le carte

Easy check in at the bar. We were shown to our room upstairs. Dangerously dark stairwell with an automatic light that comes on once you have scrambled your way to the top. very olde worlde pub with some lovely features. Room comfortable and a good size. Shower grubby and mouldy. The room wasnt serviced so no tea and coffee top up after 1st night. Breakfast time an absolute shambles. Waiter 30 minutes and no sign of any staff. My mother and brother even managed to get into the kitchen in their search for someone to take our order where the cooked breakfast items lay open on the counter already pre cooked and waiting heating up. poor choice of continental breakfast. 2nd day there were 14 peopl...

The Boar's Head is a lovely old Victorian pub, with loads of character. Our room had been freshly decorated and was clean. At check-in, we were shown to our room but not given any other information about how to get back into the building when returning late at night or what time breakfast would be served. When we returned from our social event that night, the building was locked. We could hear voices and music from inside, but despite ringing two doorbells and banging on the door, we could not get in. In the end, my partner climbed in through a ground floor open window, and the staff member in duty came to open the door. The same staff member was having a lock-in with friends. Unfortunately,...

"I’ve never been before, we came yesterday for family dinner looking forward to a roast lunch dinner. The menu only had a choice of lamb or beef, not liking beef the choice for me was lamb. Within minutes a lady came to advise the lamb “had just sold out” I said I didn’t like beef but no other option was given and I therefore had to have the beef. The meal arrived the Yorkshire’s were not risen and burned. The vegetables were very nice the beef was shaped like a block mine was dry and over cooked. My husband had poured gravy all over his so he couldn’t tell but I don’t like a lot of gravy on my food and I could tell I gave my beef to him. We ordered a burger/cheese/bacon meal for our 12 year old, I made it really clear to the young girl to plead only out cheese/bacon/burger on and no healthy stuff no onions nothing she laughed and said she has a brother who is the same so understands we ordered the adult version as it said the children’s was for 10 years and under. My sons burger arrived with a load of crispy onions lettuce and tomatoes everything we had asked NOT to be added, I took the food off but he wouldn’t touch it having seen the salad was on it! After eating my main it was a massive disappointment to see the man behind us being served a roast lamb dinner when I was told it had all sold out!!!! I had ordered fruit crumble this was a massive portion in a bowl the crumble topping was nice but the fruit underneath tasted like melted jam rather than just gently cooked fresh fruit there was more fruit sauce than fruit making it quite sloppy I had a couple of mouthfuls and left it."
