"We had planned to make a reservation at Blandy's for a Festive Menu lunch with friends. The website and menu indicated that the menu was available from 12 noon to 8.00pm, so we chose to book a table at 1.00pm to have ample time to enjoy a leisurely meal and catch up in a pleasant atmosphere. However, we were surprised to receive a booking confirmation stating that our table was reserved for only one hour from 1.00 to 2.00pm. I reached out to the restaurant to clarify this discrepancy. After a second email, they informed me that despite the advertised times, the restaurant actually operates from 12 noon to 2.00pm for lunch and then reopens from 5.00 to 8.00pm for dinner. This meant that we would be rushed to finish our meal by 2.00pm, even though they said we could stay longer if needed. If we had known about the early closing time, we would not have made a reservation, so we decided to cancel. They did offer the option to rent a private dining room from 12.00 to 4.00pm for £125, but we declined. It's disappointing that the Blandy's Festive Menu experience did not meet our expectations or match their advertisement, leading us to seek alternative dining options."

We enjoyed a wonderful meal at Blandy´s. A relaxed venue, and attentive service. I would recommend the Sunday roast menu, very good value for money. We will definitely come back.

Visited Blandys after having spa treatments at Natura. The staff are polite and welcoming. The Chef had taken our food requests to the finest detail. A wonderful afternoon tea to celebrate my parents wedding anniversary.

This restaurant is really wonderful. The staff is friendly and eager to assist with any request, and the food is absolutely fantastic. It's a hidden gem that I can't believe I didn't find sooner, even though I live nearby.

We were fascinated that this up market care home/sheltered accommodation would have a restaurant open to the public. The house is glorious and seems like an hotel in many respects. We ate in the garden in lovely sunshine and ordered from a very small menu. Some of our meal was lovely, one main was overcooked and very small. However, it was a pleasant lunch and I'm glad we went. Nice staff and gastopub prices.

I went to this restaurant with my wife and a friend for lunch. The restaurant is located in a beautiful Georgian building that has been restored to its former glory as part of a luxury retirement complex. The dining area is spacious with tables well spread out and covered in elegant linen. The menu offered a fantastic variety of courses, all of which were excellently prepared and presented. Though the Malbec was a bit pricey at £28, it was definitely worth the cost. Two of us opted for the duck while our friend chose the sea bream, all of which came with delicious sides. For dessert, we enjoyed the Creme Brulee. We finished off the meal with coffee.

We 've eaten at Blandy 's several times prior to and after covid. I booked lunch last week through the website for Bank Holiday Monday taking a 95 year old relative for a lunch treat. Arrived to time receptionists a chef having a jolly good natter. When we gave our name for the restaurant, One receptionist commented 'we 're closed today, sic having a bar b que, sic I emailed you, sic the booking system should not have taken your booking, sic there 's a nice pub down the road, let me open the door for you . A courtesy call suggesting Sunday lunch may have been more appropriate? Had we have been late for lunch would Blandy 's have e mailed or called? Perhaps as recession looms guests should be...

I booked Blandy’s for a friends 29th birthday following a Google search of best places for afternoon tea in Wiltshire. Whilst I would definitely agree the food was lovely, unfortunately I don’t think it’s made clear on the website that the restaurant is located within a retirement village. Whilst I appreciate the choice to not advertise this clearly may be a conscious decision, unfortunately it left me feeling like I had been misled and disappointed. I vocalised my disappointment to the lady on the front desk and she completely understood my concerns, saying I wasn’t the first person to give this feedback. Lovely food but I would strongly recommend being more upfront with location and target...

Visited for Afternoon Tea with friends. Reception was welcoming but unfortunately that was our last good experience. We had booked for 4 but our friend had to go to A&E at the last minute. They couldn’t have cared less and insisted on serving all 4 teas and charging us full price for 4, even when we explained the emergency situation. Sandwiches were all pre-made and there was no indication of what these would be before they were served. One of our party is gluten-free and when she was given gluten-free sandwiches that she couldn’t eat, she asked to change them and was told there was only enough gluten-free bread for what they’d already made so she had to have those. The tea itself was fine,...

"Went here to celebrate a couple of friends birthdays and had a very mixed evening. It was a Monday night so it was quiet and we were one of only a handful of tables. We were a party of four and there were no tables any larger than ours in that evening. We were seated quickly and that was about the one and only thing that happened all night with any kind of urgency. Our orders were taken and we were waiting 20 minutes or more for our first round of drinks. About half way through this, we were informed that three of the four meals we had ordered were sold out (something you'd think we'd have been informed of at the time of ordering . We thought we could quench our thirst with some water whilst waiting for our drinks but sadly no one ever came over to refill our glasses. When the food finally arrived it was delicious and I couldn't fault it at all (even if it wasn't my first choice on the menu! , so that made up for lack of service. We ordered a dessert each although only 3 of them arrived. My friend had to ask for her coffee which also didn't have any signs of showing and then when her dessert didn't show she just gave up on it (it was never put through the system . I ordered a glass of red wine, specifying the wine and was given a glass of what I assume was house red at least I wasn't mis charged for it as it was cheaper than the one I ordered! Even paying the bill was an ordeal, taking us a while to get it and then having to go through line by line to see if any of the food we ordered and didn't get hadn't been taken off (there was one additional meal on the bill . All in all a bit of a shambles but at least the delicious food and the wonderful company meant it didn't dampen our evening too much. Don't think I'd come back on a quiet night again, seems the service staff take it as a sign to disappear."
