We enjoyed a Sunday lunch at the Beechwood and found it much improved from our pre-covid visits when we had always considered it pretty mediocre. This time the service and food was much improved and we will return before too long

It was ok, no extra savoury at all apart from the sandwiches , the last time I was there it had small sausage rolls which were special, then the tables around were being laid for dinner which for the sake of a little bit longer, could’ve waited to save us listening to all the hotel gossip. We will still go back and try again.

We chose Beechwood for our wedding anniversary dinner and we were not disappointed at all. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, everything was perfect. The food was consistently amazing and the service was excellent as well. We opted for the three-course menu and tried their special, the Pheasant breast, for our main course, which was delicious. Wonderful service, dining and all round amazing experience. Rooms, luxurious traditional styling, comfy bed and deep slipper bath and shower…! Restaurant, excellent choices , well prepared, presented and so many delicious courses and a relaxing breakfast the next morning, rounds off a fabulous overnight stay on their Dinner, bed and breakfast deal…! A definite future visit for my Galloping Gourmate pals…

We had an amazing 7-course tasting menu at Beechwood restaurant tonight to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. The restaurant has a charming country house atmosphere and is only a five-minute drive from North Walsham town center. The decor includes some lovely art deco furnishings. The menu was a great value at £70 per person, and my wife enjoyed the wine flight for just £30, which included two glasses of red, two glasses of white, dessert, and port - all expertly paired with the food. We have visited the Beechwood several times but not stayed overnight before. This first stay was for our 36th Wedding Anniversary and it was memorable for many reasons. Emma and Hugh are superb hosts and have a great team around them, not least our evening waiter, Connor. We were kindly upgraded and had a really comfortable 4-poster room. The inclusive rate was exceptionally good value and the food and wine were certainly 5* as we experienced on previous visits. We are excited to learn of the Beechwood's acquisition of Mellasat Wine Farm in Paarl (South Africa) and look forward to sampling some of their excellent wines in the not too distant future at the Beechwood. Our group of 35 (classic car club members) just spent 3 lovely nights here. It was superb from our greeting upon arrival, the one off complimentary cream tea in the garden and the fabulous breakfasts and dinners. The staff were friendly, well presented, and attentive to everyone. Probably the best staff and hotel we have stayed in in our classic car outings. For those who would like to venture out, four of us took the train into Norwich which was only a 25 minute journey. The cathedral is worth a visit if you like that sort of thing. Eight years ago, my wife and I stayed at the Beechwood Hotel under previous ownership. We were impressed by the prestigious building, beautiful grounds, and historical significance. Upon our recent visit, we were pleased to see numerous tasteful improvements made by the new owners. The hotel is immaculate, with spotlessly clean areas and elegant Art Deco decor. The menus were beautifully covered and the food, sourced locally, was of excellent quality with generous portions. Wonderful overnight stay at this lovely boutique hotel. Met by friendly receptionist Rachel who gave us a brief overview of the hotel layout whilst her colleague took our bags to the room. The room was a delight. It was a four poster with a good sized living area and an enormous bathroom. Very airy and comfortable. We had afternoon tea and a delicious evening meal in the restaurant. The waiting staff are friendly and professional without being intrusive. The maitre d’ did a wonderful job as she worked both the evening meal and breakfast the next day.
