"Very warm welcome we were at 7:30 and the only table in until joined by another couple. There were 4 of us on our table. It seems they don't book in much later than 7:30. The bread was gorgeous and as there was only portion of scallops left two of us shared it but it was plenty! Two of us had the sea bass which was wonderful and the others had belly pork scrumtious and pork escalope which was cut up and oddly served with fried eggs.. it was a bit of a confusing dish but lovely non the less. Originally we had wanted fillet steak but there was none left. They do buy locally and when the fresh produce has gone it's gone. Our host was chatty and friendly and nothing was too much trouble."

An excellent resturant that belies its external pub-like appearance. Lovely comfortable decor and excellent food. Great personal service.

An extensive menu but we were so full from the dinner here the night before we had the smaller choices. Everything was really nice and the quality of food was excellent.

Phoned ahead to arrange car parking/check in times OK. Everything was well presented, we had a super day in Newark followed by a great evening meal in the Inn. The pies were splendid. Breakfast was substantial and made to order. As the Inn is in the centre of town there is some traffic noise, but not a major issue (you may want to book a room overlooking the car parking area). Happy to recommend to anyone. Walkability: Good location for visiting Newark town centre, castle and Civil War Centre. Voir le carte

I stayed for one night and it was a great experience. I would highly recommend this family run hotel, with great food and clean comfortable rooms. Rooms: It was a really comfortable experience. I loved the room. It was not a large room, but it had everything I needed and it was spotlessly clean. Lovely fluffy towels and bags of hot water. The small details really made it feel like home. Wine glasses in the room, a fridge with real fresh milk and a fan, all made for a comfortable stay. Food drinks: The food was all homemade and absolutely delicious. Really quick service too.

A comfortable and clean, if basic, inn in the centre of Newark. Family run, they could not be more helpful in welcoming us. The hotel stay itself is very reasonably priced, but the charge for a small dog at £20 for one night, and the breakfast cost at £13.50 per person are at the upper end of what we would expect. The range of dinner options was excellent, with home cooking to the fore. The quality of food was also excellent, if a little pricey. £19.90 for pie, mash and vegetables , and £28 for a bottle of a basic Chilean Sauvignon Blanc are certainly at the top end of pricey. Nevertheless we thoroughly enjoyed the meal, despite its cost.
