"We went for the high score of the reviews. The truth is I don't understand why he's so well valued. The restaurant is on the second floor. The feeling you get in is that it's a cold living room. In general, it does not generate a good feeling. Food is normal. without any complaints of quality, but the letter is too short. The service was also correct. In short, I see it as a bar that has a small restaurant. but calling it a restaurant seems too ambitious."

"We read the review on this site of Casa Pepe and were looking forward to eating there especially as the first night we went, it was closed. We were very disappointed from the outset. We ordered three dishes and said we wanted to share them. To our surprise and annoyance they arrived in a sequence, rather than together, as we had expected. However, leaving such matters aside, the food was uniformly tired and lacklustre. The first dish was a soup of beans with chorizo. I can only imagine that it had been either deep frozen and then brought back to the boil, or that it had been cooked perhaps several days earlier and then reheated. It was slightly tasty it's hard to avoid that with chorizo, as this sausage is so very flavoursome. But it was poor, like a school dinners version of the dish, judias. blancas. The next dish was pulpo a la gallego. This is an extremely simple dish octopus, paprika and olive oil, ie, it has very very little to flavour it, so it must be freshly cooked to be any good. This octopus tasted reheated, but the worst thing was the extraordinary amount of salt that had been used. I suspect that it had been cooked, and salted at that point, and then, at the point of being reheated, extra salt added. I can't be sure, obviously, but it was only just edible, really, really bad. Lastly, we had a dish of stuffed red peppers. This was passable, just about, but very poor indeed. The peppers came in a kind of brown gloop tasting slightly of prawns, and the stuffing contained some indeterminate meat, possibly minced chicken. This wasn't the worst meal we had on holiday, hence two stars instead of one, but it was extremely disappointing. I'm sorry to give this such a bad review, but, if you're staying in this charming town, by the fantastic Sierra de Gredos, you would be better off eating fresh bread and Spanish cheese, or as we did on another night, having a simple plate of morcilla and a plate of manchego in a bar in the other main square. Much jollier, and tastier."
