"What a great dining experience. The restaurant had a lovely ambience, although it was a bit quiet on a Monday lunchtime. The staff were friendly, efficient and attentive and the food tasted great."

"Having not visited for some time after a rather disappointing meal a few years ago, we decided to visit following some great, recent reviews. The decor has been updated and is now a calm, airy venue with well spaced seating. The manager, Carl was incredibly friendly and helpful. But, most importantly the food was fantastic. I'm annoyed that none of our group took photo's now! We had a couple of the small bite plates as shared starters Scampi, Houlloumi, Crispy Cauliflower Tato Tots all were delicious (and the selection made it really hard to choose just 4 . The Fish and chips were fab with a really good sized piece of fish (you know, where it overhangs the plate! , a friend had the vegan burger which she thoroughly enjoyed, and the dirty fries were just fabulous. There is a smaller selection of desserts, but it is probably enough to choose from to be honest. Between us we had the Vanilla Poached pineapple with Coconut icecream and honey comb and the Eton mess not a crumb was left! I'd definitely urge anyone to give them a try. They're trying really hard to bring the place back to it's former glory and are doing a really good job. We'll definitely be going back and recommending to friends and family. The only reason for a 4 for atmosphere was because it was a quiet Thursday evening."

"We went for lunch. We hadn't been here before so were unsure what to expect. My partner ordered the big breakfast, I ordered a jacket potato with tuna and sweetcorn. We were very pleasantly surprised. Very friendly service which was super speedy, even though they were virtually at capacity. The components of the breakfast were good quality and it was cooked well. The potato was cooked properly and had lots of real butter in it, there was a BIG pile of tuna and sweetcorn to add as required and the biggest side salad I've ever had. It had everything imaginable in it, even pomegranate, pineapple and asparagus plus two types of coleslaw. Good value for money. We would definitely recommend it and will be going again."

"As always brilliant, venue, superb staff and great food. We go there annually for a Christmas family gathering as we are scattered across the southern half of the UK. We always request then snug or side room as it accommodates about 12 of us and we can relax without being overheard. I have no reservations whatsoever in recommending this place."

"I feel ashamed to say I 've never visited this pub, which is pretty close to where i live. However it was my birthday and we decided to take advantage of the Mon Wed 50% scheme. We chose this pub over others because there were at least 4 vegetarian dishes on the menu. The owner was welcoming and very friendly throughout our entire visit. A down to earth guy who was more than helpful to talk through other dish options when it came to ordering food. Drinks a great selection of gins with the option to 'go for a double, at very reasonable price Food brie wedges to start with on a bed of salad and coleslaw...it was so welcoming to see a good amount of salad rather than a few leaves on the side of the plate. Mains ordered; sirloin steak, The Lark burger and goats cheese tart. The steak came with a range of vegetables along with onion rings. The burger and bacon were tasty and served again with chips and onion rings... the goats cheese tart was made with flaky pastry..my favourite. So in total we had 2 starters and 3 mains and 3 drinks £32)!!! It was definitely worth more than the £20 we paid on the food) government scheme, however due to the scheme we went there and we now will definitely go again."
