"RACIST BUSINESS !!!!!!!!!!!! In this area parking is extremely difficult, so we had to park at a short min walk away. it was not a problem because the Walk here to the area is pretty pleasant and the houses around are very cute. As...we got to the waterfall town, we were so happy as it looks amazing around here, but to have a meal and sit next to the waterfall is very complicated. The restaurants in this area do lunch and dinner, they close around and only reopen around pm, if you do not have a reservation for these times it is nearly impossible to eat around here. We managed to without a reservation for lunch find a place that had some spots for dinner. The place I am making this review. they were pretty good at accommodating us. We came in and I was not hungry but other people in my group were so we sat and I had a cup of coffee. As half of my group ordered food and we waited a LONG TIME for the meals to arrive some of the people who did not order food at first decided that they were willing to eat at that point and requested to order. The lady who was taking our orders SAID NO! the people who did not order when she first took the meal orders were not to oder anymore cause it was going to take too long and the others who just got the food would be done by then, in summary, she wanted to turn the table and not let us eat. One of our friends asked for just a side of salad and this lady was ABSOLUTELY RUDE TO HER (we felt like she was being racist as our friend is a black woman) and she didnt even Give a reason why she could not order the salad, she simply said NO and walked alway. As we went to pay her credit card machine was not taking my card and I tried all the cards that I had and I also have a AMEX PLATINUM and that card has no limits, it tends to never get declined, I actually never had this card declined ever, so I knew it was her machine, but she got incredibly angry and impatient at the error and just told me to get someone else to pay for my coffee as she was no longer going to try and run my cards. As I did not have any food and was not allowed to order later I cannot speak for their food, but based on the RUDENESS and honestly the RACIST behaviour of the staff I would tell you to NEVER step foot in this place!!!"

We ate supper here on the terrace. Informal and nicely attentive service. We had the meat tapas followed by lamb cutlets and pork fillet. All well cooked and tasty with fresh ingredients and served piping hot with salad and country potatoes. Nice choice of local wines.

We went there for dinner with two children 11 and 13.They were very helpful with the kids and we had steak sea bream pork schnitzel and chicken nuggets with no complaints.The food was excellent, the people were lovely and it was spotless,We stayed in the area for a week and returned there for dinner in another evening, a great place, very close to the waterfall. Since Michaela and Thomas (who worked for many years in the restaurant next door) are running this restaurant, it has become a must in Saarburg. The place is small but cosy. The menu is not long but all dishes are just perfect. On top of that, you will receive a warm from the waitress and the cook will often come and ask if everything is OK. All what you expect from a friendly place.

My wife and I were delighted when we were unexpectedly given such a warm welcome to Altstadt Eck which had been closed for many months has now been taken over by Thomas and Michaela . Ths was our 38th. visit to Saarburg where we have witnessed many changes over the years.. We have known both Thomas an Michaela for several years as they were previously employed at another quality Restaurant in Saarburg prior to branching out in business themselves. In consequence we have no hesitation in commending Altstadt Eck to all Tourists who visit the Town of Saarburg. Thomas is one of the finest Chefs in this Town.
