"The first time we went we age from the lunch menu with the 3 courses for £18 option I really enjoyed my starter, the short rib had a beautiful barbecue taste and the pickeled mustard seeds added a fantastic texture and a beautifuly sharp contrast to the meat. I felt like the crispy shallots didn't add much other than texture, maybe more would've helped. Presentation wise I loved the jar the ribs came in For the main course at @alstonmanchestr I opted the Tweed Valley 250g rump steak which was served with garlic butter and fries on the side. The rump was a £3 surcharge to the set menu, I could've had a flat iron steak for no extra charge but I couldn't do that to myself. The steak was so perfect, I asked for mine rare which did not disappoint. The meat was thick and tasty. I enjoyed the fries but I would've preferred chips, also if I wasn't having 3 courses I would've grabbed some veg on the side. For Dessert I enjoyed Dark berries and gin tart with almond ice cream. This was a great end to my meal, the gin undertoned the sharp Berry flavours and wasn't overpowering. The pastry was firm and sweet. and I enjoyed the dessicated almond on the ice cream provided a nice texture. Our second visit we ate in the evening from the a la carte Starter Courgette and corn fritters with chilli tzatziki did not disappoint, they smelt very aromatic and were nice and crispy. The flavours were great but the main event had to be the chilli tzatziki underneath, it tasted incredible Main I had decided a few days before that I deserved a T bone as it had been a while since I had one. This one was 500g and served with either chips, mash or veg, and a choice of sauce. I opted for chips and I decided to try the bone marrow butter which did not disappoint. All the Tweed Valley steaks at Alston are hand selected by a master butcher from the best cattle that's been fed grass and barley My steak, served rare, was perfect and in true T bone fashion got less cooked in the center so I was pretty much eating a live cow..mmmmm. The seasoning on the seared meat was gorgeous and with that bone marrow butter spread on it was taken to a next level"

Amazing service, incredible food and drinks. Overall great atmosphere. The staff really knew what they were talking about and were able to offer great suggestions in terms of drinks and which tonic to pair with the gin. 100% will be coming back again

I highly recommended this restaurant to my friends, and I've visited it often myself. I consistently receive great feedback from them. The cooking is outstanding, and the portions are generous. Every time we go to this place, we have a wonderful evening. I wholeheartedly recommend it!

I have never had a steak like it in years. We went to Alston on an £18 meal deal which I presumed was a January, get you in, special. Well it certainly was special. Great service from Matthew and a great selection of Gins. Our hostess was Olivia who was training Jack and both of them looked after us so well. If Jack learns from Olivia, he will do well. She was excellent. All under the watchful eye from Paul the General Manager who made us welcome in the secret bar. Superb day. We stayed hours. Voir le carte

We visited as a group of ten and found that, despite being on the pricier side, this restaurant is a great addition to the dining scene at Corn Exchange. The service was friendly and knowledgeable, which enhanced our experience. Overall, everything was fantastic, except for the desserts—those seemed to try too hard to be unique and ultimately missed the mark. The drink selection was decent, and the ambiance was very appealing. However, I did feel it was somewhat overpriced compared to Hawksmoor.

Yesterday, I visited this restaurant for a meal and it was delightful. I ordered the filet steak, while my friends' daughters both had the sirloin. My steak was incredibly tender, practically melting in my mouth, and both girls said it ranked among the best steaks they’ve ever had. For dessert, we tried the chocolate tree and the chocolate orange pot, both of which were not only visually stunning but also tasted exquisite. We also enjoyed some amazing cocktails, taking advantage of the happy hour deal since it was around 6 PM. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience!

Had a great sunday evening meal here staff were friendly and gave great recommendations for food. Decor is modern and great to have so much space in a restaurant, rather than tables mega close together! We opted for the olives and scallops to start both delicious! Olives were superb! For mains we had the chateaubriand perfectly cooked rested. Sides were a good size and the bone marrow butter was a perfect addition. We also opted for the chimichurri sauce too who knew it went so well with steak! Drinks options were great and reasonably priced for a city centre location. Highly reccomend! Voir le carte

Located in the triangle of the food, closed to the national football museum and in front of the Manchester cathedral. Very beauty place, good atmosphere, service was unexpected gentle. I've been served very well and so kindly. Quite big choice between wine, cocktails and few beers, not a great choose of dishes but very high quality instead. Meat was awesome, jucy and very tasty. Fries very good and you should tried the buttered onion. Price quite high but I think there are ok. Check, service charge is optional but they very deserved it. Highly recommended for special occasions and romantic one as well.

We have been here a few times now in the last month or so and have been impressed each time, hence returning. The beef is star but every other dish we have tried wowed us. So far we have tried the Fillet and Rib-eye, the accompanying sauces are beautiful I would recommend the chimichurri and peppercorn. The breaded Butter Curry Chicken is incredible with some of the curry actually inside the chicken Kiev style, so is the Thai Steak which is served on a bed of noodles. Sunday lunch is also incredible and probably the best I’ve had, beef Sunday dinners can a lot of the time come overdone but at Alston Bar and Beef it is beautifully pink with the perfect amount of veg to go with. The staff have...

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."
