"Just been for our first Take away from A'la Turka and have to say we were not very impressed considering all the positive reviews that it has. Ordered a mixed shish and a Tandir Kebab the portion size of the mixed shish was very poor as we got 3 cubes of lamb and 3 cubes of chicken which were overcooked very dry and far too expensive at £13.95 was a rip off ! My Tandir kebab on the other hand had lots of lean lamb but was just like lamb in gravy from a Sunday dinner. Served with plain boiled rice. Have to be honest this was nothing like the food we have enjoyed in Turkey. So first visit will unfortunately be our last. Unimpressed!"

Just had food delivered from a'la turka turkish barbecue and grill in Birtley and it was the most disgusting food i had ever had

Went for lunch with friends. They had special lunch menus but we choose from ordinary menu. Food was freshly cooked and very hot and tasty. Would recommend.

Didn't enjoy this experience, waited nearly an hour just some baklava to take home when I was told it would be approximately half an hour, won't be in a hurry to go back

Got the full mixed kebab to take away, cost £20, don't think it was anyway near value for money, really disappointed. Was expecting a lot better. Don't get me wrong it's the only thing I tried off their menu so it may be I just got a bad one time meal

Strange place to find a delicious Sunday roast. Ample portion, delicious tender beef served with Yorkshire pudding, roast and mashed potatoes, lashings of rich gravy and a side of veg...what more could you want and an absolute bargain at £8.95 Will be returning soon to go through the traditional Turkish dishes on the extensive menu. Great welcome from friendly and efficient staff.
