"Ieri per puro caso tornando giù da Castel D'Aiano, abbiamo avuto la fortuna insieme a mia moglie la nostra bambina e il nostro cagnolino, di conoscere questa meravigliosa realtà tra tanti improvvisati, ambiente tranquillo e sereno,cameriere o proprieterio non saprei molto gentile garbato per niente invadente, ottimo cibo davvero, dai porcini fritti alla tartare di fassona, spettacolari le polpette di polenta con ripieno di taleggio su vellutata di porcini,crescentine da favola con affettati di qualità alta,fiorentina superlativa. Bhe cosa dire dei dolci, avremmo voluto avere più spazio per mangiarne degli altri.. Prezzo davvero onesto,50 minuti circa da Bologna, ma veramente soddisfatti, bravi tutti ragazzi, ci rivediamo molto presto.."

"Without a doubt the best food we had the entire two weeks in Italy. Allow me to set the stage for you. Our group of eight while on the way to Venice on a miserable raining cold day, had the luck to take the Rioveggio exit one hour outside of Bologna. We asked a local shopkeeper and he pointed us to the direction of this restaurant. Here we are, eight Americans walk in this establishment much to the surprise of the owner and other patrons. My guess is that there are not very used to tourists judging from the long and persistence stares. We started with an assortment of local cold cuts and cheeses along with some mozzarella and pancetta. Followed by 8 pasta dishes Tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms, Garganelli with Salmon, Tortellini in a wonderful broth, Green Gnocchetti in a gorgonzola sauce, tagliatelle in meat sauce. Could not tell you which was better as there were all outstanding, yes I tasted them all. However, by far the star of the show was Tortellacci stuffed with pear and cheese, I think I died and went to heaven. The best part was the price, all of the above plus two liter of a very nice house wine and water for 115 euros. Yes, that is not a typo 115 euros. Someway, somehow will have to return."

"We visited at the end of September and getting on for the end of the season. All the restaurants we visited were quiet. But we went back to Nel Castagneto because it's excellent. I went early for a little cooking course/lesson which was the highlight of my hol. I was given a recipe book to take away with me but learned about pasta (folding tortelloni and tortellini) and more traditional recipes. Not a spag bol in sight! We then ate what we made- pizza, 4 different pastas and chocolate brownie style dessert and trifle. Stuffed! Christina gave us a pasta doggie bag which we had for lunch the next day. 20 euros each plus wine. Bargain. Plus a chat with the owners which was great to learn about the area and their passion for food. We'll be back!"

"I've been to this place for an 18th! the busy and narrow road if you come from vergato, considering that I went there with a bush 9 places (if by chance I met another car once arrived at the local there a large parking lot, the really beautiful location very well looked after! the local divided into several floors this allows a greater privacy for events as a birthday. our floor was the one above with a beautiful room that in the background has a giant glass for the view (unfortunately I couldn't admire because it was already dark). regarding the very good menu we tried various dishes all delicious! sin for the service because I didn't really like an episode that happened to me with a waiter, i.e. I asked about the Coca-Cola (as I couldn't drink since I was driving) and with me also my friends 6/7 and he instead that bring us 2 big bottles/ or 7 small bottles of Coca-Cola brought 3 small ones! At that point we felt caught up and we asked and we were told that they had ended then talking to the father of the unbelieving birthday party also asks him another Coca-Cola and magically arrives (maybe the waiter wanted to do only the witty) well all in all leaving this went all very good local! of course I recommend this place!"

"August lunch on the cuccozzolo of a small hill in the shade of a large porch cradled by a cool and pleasant wind sitting around a round table, well equipped, that favors conversation with friends. Eating, fixed menu, pleasant surprises at every level: appetizer with savoury crostini and excellent meats, delicious tortellini in broth of small capons according to tradition and what matters given the season not boiling, to follow a bis of lasagne with the right bechamel and tortelloni of ricotta butter and sage well seasoned with an excellent ricotta as filling. For second dish unique with rabbit to the hunter, chicken rollé, tomatoes graté, eggplant cheese baked potatoes all good except potatoes. With the desserts you could choose we were in died and ten desserts we ordered no one complained, Pignoletto, Sangiovese water coffee and bitter everything for 30 € you can not ask more. I forgot very kind and attentive staff"
