"We booked a table for our New Years Eve meal, we’d heard some amazing reviews about the Second Floor Bar and Brasserie so was dying to try it! The food was fabulous, very delicious and the presentation was perfect. The only really disappointing part of the service we received was the waiter has forgotten what desserts we had ordered and asked us to reorder after we had been waiting for them for 45 minutes, he also forgot our complimentary glass of Prosecco too, we had to ask for this. One thing to note is that water isn’t complimentary and is chargeable, as is the mixers for any Gin that you may order, I must state that the price of the mixers was not advertise in the drinks menu, just the price of the Gin itself. Overall rather happy with a time and experience, I feel that we will return again now that we have experience and know to expect additional charges for mixers."

Visited on Saturday evening, the food was ok but ordered a steak and got the smallest portion of fries ever. Service was really slow. Disappointing experience.

I love this place and the food is good and even better when there is an offer. Service on this occasion was not as good as previous visits, but I would still come as I had Fab experiences on other occasions

Very nice lunch in this restaurant. Only disadvantages was the price that included a 10% discretionary fee, but this was not so much deductible in the place of payment! Otherwise, the food and the service was good.

My Mum and I had the luxury afternoon tea. Which you get a plate of savoury and then a cake stand with a mixture of cakes and a scone. We got unlimited tea and coffee; a cappuccino and English breakfast tea. The staff are lovely and ask if you want another drink and make sure everything is okay. Overall, it is good value for money and you get a good view of Manchester whilst people watching!

The food at this restaurant was nicely presented but lacked flavor. The ambiance and decor were typical of an average cafe. The service was friendly until we finished our meal, at which point we struggled to get the staff's attention for more drinks. Despite not being busy, we were not asked if we wanted to order more drinks. Upon leaving, we were surprised to find that the price of prosecco was double what it would be at a store. If you are expecting a special experience based on the name Harvey Nichols, you may be disappointed.

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."

"I've been to a couple of different Dishoom branches a few times and have never been disappointed by the breakfast options. The sausage naan roll is excellent. A couple of really tasty vegan sausages with some melted vegan cheese all wrapped up in a lovely soft naan and served with some sort of sweet chilli dipping sauce. My go to now is usually the vegan Bombay. It's a good hearty breakfast plate with... a couple of the same well seasoned vegan sausages. Some vegan tofu akuri a nicely spiced tofu scramble. Some very well cooked mushroom slices (that are maybe a wee bit under seasoned). The baked beans are really nicely spiced, elevating them far beyond the standard sweet sauce fare that's the usual. A few slices of well flavoured black pudding (that could be fried to being a bit crispier). A cooked tomato which is a bit dull, I've never been keen on tomatoes on my breakfast plate and this once has not changed my mind. It could do with some more charring and maybe some spicing. To help you mop everything up, the whole thing is served with a couple of soft bread buns that have been nicely toasted. I usually top the whole thing off with some chocolate chai with oat milk you get free refills for your chai. Unfortunately, it isn't wheelchair accessible. There are stairs up into the restaurant and various small flights of stairs to get to different parts of the restaurant. Updated from previous review on 2024 03 25"
