"Would definitely return, but be warned, despite the price guide' on this website you will need a remortgage to dine here. Food was beyond doubt the best we'd had in a long time. We had the sourdough, and seared scallops to start. For mains I had venison steak and my husband had pan fried duck. Dessert was a marathon bar, and pear delice. The meats were just melt in the mouth, and I've never tasted scallops that were dreamy and not rubbery before! So a 3 course meal for lunch, with a glass of wine, cocktail and coffee each came to £200. Staff could not have been more attentive. We were seated right in the middle of the room next to a serving station and the staff moved us without quibble. Excellent service When booking it's worth asking for a table near the window to enjoy any views. There are spots out on the terrace under an eden project' style dome and in green houses but we didn't get the opportunity to wander outside to view these due to time."

We had very attentive service and excellent food The ambience was nice as well, with the Christmas decor. We would come again when we visit Manchester.

Absolutely one of the best meals we have experienced. Staff so friendly and couldn’t be more helpful. Food was impeccably presented and from a vegetarian perspective I was so impressed. We will be visiting again

The staff was welcoming and the service was good and pleasant with the exception of the bar staff. We went to the bar for a drink after arrival early and were ignored about ten minutes. Really spoil the beginning of a pleasant evening

20 layers have changed from a first class restaurant to a bar with sounding music and some tables. the focus on providing high quality food has been lost. the vegetarian decisions were very poor and I had to send my back as it was understated. as a result I had nothing of eating a little brot! they only pay for the views.

Very disappointing experience with 20 stories. There was a problem with booking where the fork confirmation did not come through their system, and although they gave them the confirmation email, they argued and really got Huffy with me they never even apologised (clear a system error in their name) and had a terrible attitude. It was a Sunday night and half empty and they told us we had to wait an hour for a table. We sat on the terrace just to not be told table service on the terrace, and waited 15 minutes for cocktails made by a trainee barman whose supervisor repeated him the cocktails. Even after that, the cocktails were terrible. Only really disappointing when I heard good things about...

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."

"I've been to a couple of different Dishoom branches a few times and have never been disappointed by the breakfast options. The sausage naan roll is excellent. A couple of really tasty vegan sausages with some melted vegan cheese all wrapped up in a lovely soft naan and served with some sort of sweet chilli dipping sauce. My go to now is usually the vegan Bombay. It's a good hearty breakfast plate with... a couple of the same well seasoned vegan sausages. Some vegan tofu akuri a nicely spiced tofu scramble. Some very well cooked mushroom slices (that are maybe a wee bit under seasoned). The baked beans are really nicely spiced, elevating them far beyond the standard sweet sauce fare that's the usual. A few slices of well flavoured black pudding (that could be fried to being a bit crispier). A cooked tomato which is a bit dull, I've never been keen on tomatoes on my breakfast plate and this once has not changed my mind. It could do with some more charring and maybe some spicing. To help you mop everything up, the whole thing is served with a couple of soft bread buns that have been nicely toasted. I usually top the whole thing off with some chocolate chai with oat milk you get free refills for your chai. Unfortunately, it isn't wheelchair accessible. There are stairs up into the restaurant and various small flights of stairs to get to different parts of the restaurant. Updated from previous review on 2024 03 25"
