"We stumbled across Bistrot Bondy mid-afternoon, after a lengthy walk around the city. What a find! Immediately welcomed with a cheerful ‘Bonjour’ and asked if we were eating, we were settled into a window table. The menu was not extensive (a good thing), interesting and great value for money. An excellent charcuterie sharing plate, carrot cappuccino and slice of game pie, were washed down as starters with local beer. The mains were all beautifully prepared and presented and accompanied by a good, reasonably priced, Cote du Rhone, of course. We were expertly introduced to the desserts (and digestifs) by our delightful waitress, herself studying as a pastry chef at the Paul Bocuse Institute. A wonderful ambience and gentle attentiveness throughout the meal, we left, sated and smiling into early evening Lyon, saying our ‘au revoirs’."
