"We were excited to come across this restaurant because they specifically advertise that they do emporter (take away). Living in the region, it's not always easy to find good takeout when you don't have the time for a long, sit-down French dinner. Tried to order and the owner/employee hung up on us, on purpose. So, as a caveat, I have no idea what the food tastes like, just the employee's (owner's?) attitude. L'Olivier Rouge has a nice website and menu that specifically lists take out/emporter as an option, with three dishes you can choose from to order. We called and ordered one of the listed dishes to come pick up. The owner had no problem taking our emporter order, but when it became clear that we were not placing a big enough order for his taste, he told my husband, "you are not ordering enough, I don't have time for this, I have to tend to my clients." Then he just put the phone down and disconnected the call. Nothing was lost in translation as my husband is a French-speaker and the entire transaction was done in French. If he had to deliver the food, I would understand the minimum order, but we were coming to his restaurant to pick it up. This is easy business. Tip for the salty owner-don't advertise that you do takeaway if you don't want to do takeaway. And be polite about it."
