"Arrived in Paris on the TGV late evening during the transit strike. Fortunately our Uber reservation was right on time meeting us at Gare de Lyon. Auto traffic was horrible as Metro was not running. We were staying at the Splendid Etoile which was right across the street. By the time we arrived at the cafe, it was about 10:00, but it was still crowded. We were offered a nice table but all tables here are small and close to one another. Service was rapid (maybe staff was looking to go home), but friendly. I only had coffee and dessert, but my wife ordered a full meal. Food was good on all counts, albeit not memorable. We told the waiter to hurry as we were exhausted and wanted to get to our bed! He accommodated that need and we were in and out in about 45 mins. Overall, a pleasant experience meeting our needs for the evening."
