"I'm glad my wife and l along with our 3 children dined at this eatery. Now we have a life long experience and one we share willingly about the muppet who was our waiter. This guy was outstanding, unfortunately typified the stereotype of the classic...French waiting staff. This chap, who doubled as the owner, really didn't want 5 hungry Australians in his dim lit and musty establishment. He reluctantly greeted us and although he had a command of English, l heard him speak disparagingly to other foreign guests in English, he only spoke French. After struggling to communicate l asked if he could speak English, a request he refused with a violent nod of his head. He repeatedly spoke in his native tongue and every time he did this, he would then talk to his friends at the bar and they would all laugh. To cut a bad experience short, l will leave you with one other interesting example. He was racing through the menu in French and l asked him if we could have some time to study the menu and in the mean time for him to serve us drinks as we perused the French words. To which he responded, No In English, mind you, and then went further in his new found language, l will only come to your table once This has become a great topic for me to share whenever someone asks me about my experience in France."
