"Let me preface this by saying that in the five years I've lived in Paris, this has never EVER happened to me. So, after a long day of walking during the heatwave, my husband and I decided to have dinner. Food was ok, wine was good, service was by a kind old lady. When it was time to pay, my husband gestures for me to come in as the person behind the bar (owner, I assume) wants to pour us complimentary shots as we had spent a tiny fortune over there. Well, what do you know, he does not say hello or return my greeting, and as far as he was concerned, I was invisible. He was more interested in speaking to my husband, and another customer who paid before (both , who, I might add, are white). He pours two shots, one for my husband and one for the other customer (because it makes complete and total sense that they would be together, duh) while all the while ignoring me and the constant pleas and clarification from the both of them that they were not together, and that my husband and I were a couple. It fell on deaf ears, I must say, to the point I was really confused and looked at my husband and asked him if I should wait outside. All in all, if you're ok for some slightly average food do give this place a try. I'll be giving it a miss from here on out."
