"Excellent. The Malsters Arms is an ancient traditional village pub that has maximised the use of its available space, whilst retaining its character and charm. Cosy village pub interior at the front, with a large (modernised but charmingly interesting) adjoining skittle alley, now used as a versatile space for eating, drinking, parties and receptions. Two (dog friendly) beer gardens, an outer seating area and an outdoor bar make this a very adaptable venue, whether to prop up the bar for a pint or to eat comfortably with friends and family, plus dog. The menu is simple, traditional, honest, wholesome and caters for all tastes. In terms of quality and price, the food is excellent, robust, tasty, hot, fresh, high quality and beautifully presented, and there is the usual comprehensive range of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks from the various bars. For example, tasty flaky white fresh crisp line caught battered fish with delicious chips, mushy peas and chunky tartar sauce, and a delicious steak and Doombar Ale pie with a generous helping of well made mashed potato and yummy red cabbage and crunchy greens all piping hot and cooked to perfection: couldn't be bettered. The owners and staff are absolutely charming, welcoming, helpful, informative and efficient. Excellent, hot, tasty, well presented food in a delightful sunny environment in a lovely village with ample parking all at very reasonable price; what more could one want? So, 5 star service, 5 star quality, 5 star enjoyment. Highly recommended. And thank you: looking forward to a return visit soon."
