"Called in to order takeaway of two doner kebabs around 7pm stood for over twenty minutes watching several kebabs being made for them to be collected by Deliveroo type driver. Finally ours were handed to us, got home opened the box there’s just a pile of meat in a pita??? No salad, we have had kebabs here before and always had a soul destroying wait but at least they were a properly assembled kebab. Guy making it seemed clueless and unsupervised, priorities are for the delivered food and not in-person orders and the wait would have included time for a whole box of doner meat to be grilled rather than a portion with salad. Don’t get me wrong the amount of meat was great value, perfect if we had no desire to have a digestive system still working the next day, we like need salad with ours though. It must be costing them a fortune to give away huge amounts of doner meat like that, a bargain for some. We were disappointed and as we’d just flown back from an overseas holiday couldn’t be bothered to go back. It’s always a hit and miss experience there but Ironbridge businesses have had it so tough for a few years we like to support locally when we can. I can’t eat a mountain of meat like that hence a bad experience this time for me. Nowhere did it say ask for salad we simply said “two doner kebab please with everything on” and specified a few sauces and got a sauced box of meat in a pita that we waited an age for."

"Had mixed experience here. Given 5 starts despite it wasn't great experience, however the outcome was worth the 5 stars . 2 adults 2 dogs. Chose this place as its dog friendly and ideal location for a pleasant walk/rest/food. Greeted on arrival and given instructions regards covid etc. We ordered drinks and food at the bar and we chose to sit/dine outside. They had a large party dining inside and we felt our puppies might be a nuisance. We were informed they had ran out of cups and spoons so would it be OK if served in paper cup and used a straw to stir it, not ideal, but agreed, however the pot washer came to the rescue and arrived with clean cups. We then sat outside a waiter then bought out complimentary bread and butter, but that was it, no plate or cutlery, so we went inside to ask for them. Then our main meals arrived, the portions I thought were from the children's menu, I had pork that was advertised as pork with crackling, apple sauce, roast potatoes and veg, 1 small slice of pork, the crackling was the size of my small finger nail, the veg was cauli cheese, which was one floret with no cheese, a table spoon of mashed swede and a few shreds of cabbage, one small potato that was cut into 4, all served on a plate the Size of a planet covered in gravy that had that lumpy microwaved look around the edges, oh and no apple sauce, the only thing I could do was look at my companion and laugh, her roast beef wasn't much different in size and appearance. When the waitress asked did we need anything else at this point we asked for the missing apple sauce and horseradish and possibly another side portion of vegetables. The food was nice, nothing spectacular, a standard Sunday dinner, but for the Size of the portions and at £30 I really expected more. Once we finished our meals we then were left sat with plates etc on our table for close to 20 mins, we had ordered puddings at the same time as our meal so really no need to be kept waiting for table to be cleared and desserts served, when the waitress finally arrived we cancelled the deserts expressed our concerns and asked to speak to the manager. Having explained the whole shambles of our visit, he could not have been any more understanding, was extremely apologetic, and agreed due to the extremely large party being catered for inside that standards had slacked, and it wasn't the normal at their establishment. The incident was mutually rectified. Would I eat here again?? Probably not, purely on price/portion size/quality of food. However you can not question the managers professional approach to customer satisfaction."

"The Shakespeare Inn is a traditional English pub offering a bed and breakfast service. Upon arrival we found the staff to be friendly and welcoming. Checking in was an easy process, after which we were shown to our rooms. The access to the rooms from the bar are via an external steep flight of stairs. This is not suitable for wheelchair access or for people with mobility problems. Our rooms were simply furnished with two single beds, two chairs, a small table, and a wardrobe. Tea and coffee facilities were also available. An en-suite shower and toilet completed the layout. A couple of points to note here. A TV is provided but the tv signal is so poor that it becomes un-watchable. The Shakespeare Inn also offers free Wi-Fi, however we we’re unable to connect to this having tried on several occasions. A real negative for me I’m sorry to say. Now a word of warning: The rooms have a wooden floor which has been very highly polished , and partially covered with rugs. However, between the beds the floor is extremely slippery. So much so that it could easily lead to a fall. I speak from experience. The Shakespeare Inn offers bed and breakfast. A point to note here is that during weekdays, it is only a continental breakfast, which can be delivered to your room. We found the continental breakfast to be very good value. At weekends, a full English breakfast is available. This is also good value. Should you wish to dine here in the evening, dinner is also available. The dinner menu consists of fairly standard fare but is enjoyable non the less. Vegetarian and gluten-free free dishes are also available. Would I stay at the Shakespeare Inn again? I would have to say no to this on the basis of the very poor tv reception and extremely poor Wi-Fi. Would I recommend this B&B to others? Yes, but I would have to make them aware of the issues with the TV and Wi-Fi, and the slippery floor."
