"Ate here twice on a weeks holiday, had pizza first time which was great. Booked and returned 3 days later and had paella which was basically Uncle Bens rice with a couple of prawns, very disappointing. Nice music , busy as weekends, sometimes so busy you wait for drinks. "We stopped here whilst driving down the GC-60 (which is a very scenic route and well worth a drive! Plenty of parking outside, Great views from the restaurant and option of indoor or outdoor seating with parasols. Good variety of food although no sign of a kids menu. For the three of us we opted for two simple dishes for a light lunch. A hamburger and chips and a grilled chicken breast with salad and chips. The chicken breast dish was plenty enough for me to share with our six year old as a full size would of been too much. Both dishes were delicious. Total bill for both dishes and three non alcoholic drinks was €23 which we thought was great value for money. Staff were very friendly and toilets were clean. Would visit again when returning to Gran Canaria."

"Buena comida, pedimos unas papas arrugás con moho muy ricas, tanto la patata como el moho picón, de los más ricos que probé en la isla. También pedimos pulpo a la gallega y una lubina al horno con verduras. Todo estaba rico pero por la lubina nos cobraron 30 euros y teníamos solo una parte de ella, un filete vamos, no venia la lubina entera, nos dimos cuenta a la hora de pagar de su precio ya que no lo esperábamos por lo que nos habían servido. No lo tuvimos mucho en cuenta porque estábamos de vacaciones el servicio fue excelente y rápido y la comida muy rica, a pie de playa y a las 17.00h de la tarde, osea que tampoco era para quejarse mucho . Excelente trabajo del camarero, buena persona y muy amable con nosotros, pudimos preguntarle sugerencias de la isla para poder ver y visitar y al final nos regalaron unos bombones de postre. Quedamos encantadisimos y satisfechos, la cuenta total fueron 70 euros pero lo dicho, todos los detalles hacen una estancia y almuerzo agradable y disfrutada."

"A lovely, tucked away, small but sweet, delightfully decorated unique place nestling in the mountains south of Palmitos Park, but nevertheless easy to get to via car, taxi or bus, we visited this little gem on Christmas Day 2019 for our Christmas lunch. The service was subtle, but efficient, and the menu choices excellent. One of my friends is vegetarian and her chosen fish dish was excellently cooked and so large she could hardly finish it. One of our party was late arriving, in fact he didn't arrive and we put off ordering for at least an hour, pending his appearance. The staff did not once berate us or hurry us at all, in fact seemed rather concerned, even though in the end, nothing was wrong. Do not be put off by the presence of a bouncy castle for the children rather than this causing distressing noise and disruption it gives them something to do so the adults can relax and dine in peace and quiet. The decor is amazing and the quality of food most enthralling. I have been once before, in the evening and a delightful duo of guitarists played at our table and made the whole experience very romantic. I can recommend this little gem, far out of the normal tourist areas, very heartily for couples, friends, and families alike. A brilliant place to stop off to on your way back from Palmitos Park. Not a plastic table or chair in sight!"

"We visited this restaurant last night. Arrived at about 19:30 and sadly we were the only people there. However some local people arrived at about 20:30 so the atmosphere became more buzzy. Its always a relief to eat where the local people also eat. In the current time when so many people are not able to work and money is a little precious the fact that local people come to this restaurant speaks volumes for the quality of the food. We shared a couple of tapas plates to start, the famous Russian salad and the fried cheeses with marmalade. We followed this with the breaded fish washed down with an excellent bottle of red. It is little off the normal tourist list of places to eat but I would recommend jumping into a taxi and making the effort to eat there. Great quality and very affordable prices. Enjoy"

"My wife and I visited on the recommendation of someone that lives locally ... There is a good range of cuisine on offer ... my wife chose the grilled fish which she enjoyed very much and I had the sirloin steak ... I have to say I often avoid ordering steak when I don't know the establishment but as it was our last night I thought I would give it a go. I asked for it to be cooked medium/rare ... the quality of the steak was in my opinion very good and it was cooked exactly as I had asked. The staff were attentive, polite and friendly. I recommend this resteraunt to a range of customers including family groups and couples. We will return when we next visit GC."

"Really appalling food the veal was not authentic rather thinly sliced beef and was as tough as old boots similarly the saltimbocca Roma was dreadful tough meat overpowered by sage and nothing like the classical recipie. We ate very little of this horrible food but were nevertheless faced with threats and abuse from Jose and had to pay the bill of 72.33euros for dreadful food which we neither ate or enjoyed. Jose asserted that his hands were tied and he was only following instructions from his boss who was not present so a message to the boss shame on you for serving and charging for disgusting food. Avoid this restaurant at all costs there are so many better restaurants nearby with good food and good service."

"What makes a good Food experience! I wonder looking back today after eating here. Outside the door we overheard a couple say how good the food was, so we took a chance and in we went. Having been shown to our table the waiter asked us were we Dutch, German, English etc. He came back with English Menus and had a fair understanding of the English language im terms of describing what steaks were on offer, how they are cooked and what is served with dish on the plate as standard. 2 steaks were ordered and our request was simple, Well Done, No Blood good quality. What arrived was far from satisfactory. my steak was cooked medium to rare My friends steak was not much better, Once we brought the quality and cooking to the attention of a waiter who certainly fancied himself we were doomed.My medium steak returned very quickly from the kitchen and looked as if a Blow Torch was used to color the meat.Our desserts again were simple , 2 bowls of ice cream , No chocolate in 1. Of course thats not what came, To leave out chocolate would be too much of an inconvience. Many of the staff looked like they were security guards or nightclub doormen. Zero Personalities, zoombie robots in uniform.. EAT here at your peril."

"Restaurante con encanto en segunda línea de playa. Desde la terraza se puede ver el mar. Sus platos nunca defraudan, entre ellos hago mención especial al solomillo que viene acompañado de verduras y papas panaderas. Exquisito!! Sus pizzas también son muy buenas. El trato y el servicio por parte del personal es muy agradable y profesional. Sin duda, de mis lugares favoritos. Dispone de aparcamiento de pago en el mismo centro comercial o zona azul en las inmediaciones. También de aparcamiento gratuito en la calle si nos alejamos un poco más."

"I have to first say the quality of steak and the price we paid for it was an absolute steal! This was our first visit to the restaurant. We had a decent steak nearby and both these restaurants had been recommended. This year we opted for Carlos V. After reading recent reviews about service, I have to say it is a contrast to our experience. The waiter was polite, warm, friendly and accommodating. We had steak on our mind but noticed a special menu, which was three courses for €12.90. I opted for Canarian Croquettes and my partner Garlic Shrimps. A very generous portion of six spinach croquettes accompanied by a tomato purée sauce with a hint of curry is how I can only describe it. In fairness, it was not the best Canarian croquettes I’ve had, but nevertheless acceptable and enjoyable. The waiter warmly took our steak order and fully understood that we wanted a medium well and well done steak. The steak was brought to us with a very generous amount of fries and plenty of peppercorn sauce covering the steak. Both steaks were cooked to perfection and exact to the order. The steak was also very tender and melted in your mouth. We couldn’t finish all of the accompanying fries or Canarian potatoes with our meals and was very close to surrendering our third course. Nevertheless, the waiter warmly insisted and said we had paid for it, so enjoy. I opted for ice cream, again given a choice of flavours, and my partner had a tea instead of coffee. With milk brought afterwards. Again no trouble for the waiter. We were offered a complimentary brandy or liquor, but with bellies full and satisfied, we declined so we could walk it off. Our first experience of Carlos V was a very positive one. From the front of house waiter service, to the back of house where the chef cooked the steaks to perfection and a very delicious sauce. Couple the service with a very tasty product, we have to say €30 for this experience was value for money and would have happily paid double for this. If Carlos V continue offering the experience we had, then I’m sure the all round reviews will be positive."

"This place is a jewel, off the beaten track and different to other restaurants. Mara is the boss and she cooks and serves some truly wonderful food. Her tapas are the hit, but also her grilled steaks or lamb cutlets are the best. A good bottle of wine won't make a hole in your purse either. But please reserve before going. Some evenings the terrace is all reserved and then that leaves you with a table inside. Which is also pleasant."

"It was from the few places we found in the maspalomas that were less touristic in the menu there was not much variety of canarian food, it was quite fusion food as you can find in any gastrobar. the only thing we tasted typical of there were the wet potatoes that were very good, although the salsa did not seem very homemade, and a mousse of gofio, which was also good. we complement everything with an octopus pineapple and a cod salad, avocado and pepper pepper peppers. the food was very good, but to the extent that the amount was small for the price it had. After several days on the island I discovered another pergola coffee restaurant a less touristic and more typical place of a village bar with quite a few typical options canarian at a fairly affordable price."

"Friendly, cheery waiter. Not overly pushy like some others in the area. Menu has lots of choice. Had a beet smoothie which was really refreshing. Also had tomato on bread. Dish normally has cheese but they had no problem removing it for me as I’m vegan. Husband ordered a pizza with meats and anchovies. He said the dough was excellent and the toppings were a great combination. He is already looking to go back for another pizza."

"Restaurante escondido en el patio del centro comercial. El presunto dueño del restaurante es un hombre amable y muy irónico. La comida es relativamente variada. Lo que pedimos estaba muy rico. Desafortunadamente, algunas solicitudes de pedido se extendieron involuntariamente; p.ej. una pequeña ensalada mixta se convirtió en una grande con atún. Este tipo de comportamiento finalmente hizo subir la factura del restaurante. Por lo tanto no es suficiente para 5/5. Ojo: si miras la foto subida por un cliente en la entrada de Google, puedes confundir el restaurante con el que hay en la periferia del centro comercial, ya que allí la señalización tiene el mismo diseño y texto similar."

"Después de levantarnos de un día de resaca, fuimos a playa del inglés a despejarnos un poco. A la hora de comer nos entró el hambre y poco convencidos decidimos venir a este lugar… La verdad que 10 de 10 nos atendieron súper bien y comimos genial.
