"Short info: Very good restaurant with ambitious cuisine and very appealing dishes. I had been attentive to this restaurant thanks to the very much appreciated Mitusers frank01. His pictures of the food looked very promising. Thanks to Connections, this place was also recommended to me by a Rheinsberger and so I had a table reservation for weeks before, so that we would not risk the Easter holidays there. And that was as good as it turned out. We didn't sweat blood and water during the drive thanks to the jacked chassis, but I would have liked to wear a sport bra ;D. But we got (from Zechlin promptly also the forest road, which then passes into an even more holier village road that we had not managed with a normal car. Therefore, first of all, the following important information on how to get there: If you come directly from Rheinsberg, you must pay attention to the yellow sign and take this path. frank01 later assured me that this way was fine. If you still manage to get further north on the forest trails, the road at the intersection in the forest is absolutely right, then you come to a paved village road at some point. If you just drive out, you risk the integrity of the chassis and underbody. And whoever has such a stupid navigator as I, who also risks landing on grown-up forest roads ... parking is available on the property and on the road. There is also a private boat docker and you can order food to take away when you are on a boat trip. That's a very nice idea! The former Villa Waldfriede is wonderfully idyllicly surrounded by a romantic old garden in the Rheinsberger district Warenthin am Rheinsberger See, overlooking the Remus Island. In the garden you can enjoy beautiful weather. at small tables on the meadow. Unfortunately, it was too cool there, but one had a nice table in a small, cozy bay, in the basement, rustic restaurant for us. After a friendly reception we received the menu of the casual but nice young lady, who, despite a happy expectation as we learned, has great pleasure in her work and kept the overview even at the gradually changing high farm. In the sympathetic family business, everyone packs up, Father Uwe Mischke zapft, the son cooks, also Ms. Mischke helps in service. The menu is versatile, but not overloaded. Fresh fish from the adjacent lakes is offered according to the offer and costly according to weight. What came to the table was not only an eyewitness, but also a tasteful first-class enjoyment. As an appetizer we chose fried herringsrogen a meanwhile rare delicacies, dressed on a rocket bed. This was offered on a board in front of the property and immediately found our approval. He was a very nice match for our main dishes. After that, a magnificent, fried 750g veil was served on a tray with butter carrot spoons and a crisp salad on our table, as well as on a slate plate, a bowl of calf liver in Madeira's ostrich with roasted onions as well as potato spices flavoured with herbs and spring onions. The composition was not to be exceeded. Even my sweetheart, the liver favors Berlin style and is not a saucenesser, was done by the fine little bump and the delicate liver pieces. The veil had delicate juicy meat and tasted typical for a basic fish, which is difficult to describe. I would most likely call it as the lake smells in the morning fog, in a positive sense. You should like the aroma. Rarely we looked so suspicious of the servicing before we gave ourselves pleasure. After dinner unfortunately no longer fits and secretly we were glad not to log there, otherwise we would probably only have slmmered from morning to evening. The appetizer cost 5 €, the veil was 20 €, the calf liver was about 14 €. We paid about 50 € with drinks. The price performance ratio is very appropriate. The cook, who worked in Switzerland for a time, understands his craft as hardly any other in the region. Predominantly good German cuisine presents itself here creatively and appealingly. The guest and logging house, which is mainly visited by locals, but also tourist guests, has long since been a secret tip in the area, but it is one of our favorite restaurants in and around Rheinsberg. P. S. to the rooms I can't say anything, but frank01 has already written something. I imagine a stay here but very romantic. Update July 2014: summer, sun, good mood and so we arrived this time on the right way past the Obelisken to Warenthin. We found a wonderful place in Mischke's garden and on the map freshly roasted Baltic Sea herrings and glacial with pea and herb (hi, the Berlin scares nothing back even at summer temperatures. P. S. The baby isn't here yet, but next time we come here. : It takes a few weeks. We wish the young family all the best!"
