"Having heard good things about this medieval themed restaurant it became quite a disappointing evening. Having made our way past the mix of centuries old looking garb and mannequins reminiscent of a cheap seaside wax works we entered the dining room. For a Saturday night...it was surprisingly empty and the few diners present were wrapped up as it was cold with just a small fan heater on the floor to take the edge off. We could of done with some earmuffs too, not because of the cold, but because of a band practicing in the room below overwhelming the background music of the restaurant. Unfortunately neither of the draft ales were available and had been taken off the menu a few weeks previous due to being unpopular. These are to be replaced by bottled ales but no one had the foresight to get actually get any in stock. And so the food arrived and the portions were huge. A pile of chicken wings for starters which were nice along with some shell on langoustines and prawns which we enjoyed. We all had the Ribeye steak for our main course which were thick cut however having asked for it Medium mine was well done. The accompanying side of chips, salad and various sauces were ok but a lot of food was wasted due to the shear size of the portions. In fairness to the staff they were very apologetic for the problems and looked after us throughout so it’s just a shame that they have presumably been let down by poor management. The bill was fair but there was just too many negatives to persuade us to return."

"Situated just outside of Northampton Centre near to what is locally known as the Racecourse, this new Bangladeshi Grill is the new addition to ethnic eating in the town opening just a few weeks ago in January 2015. Whether you are are looking for a light snack or a full blown meal the menu offers a varied selection of all different kebabs from around the vast majority of the spicelands plus an interesting and a superb selection of curried wet dishes cooked homestyle with subtle spicings at variose heat strengths not to be confused with the run of the mill offerings from your local High Street so called Indian Restaurant, the food offered in this estabilishment is the real deal. also available is spicy are spicy burgers, lamb chops and ribs plus an array if tikkas and tandoori food cooked in the clay oven, the restaurant also has a childrens selection served with chips albeit my only criticism is that this choice could be expanded just a little but hey ho nothing in this world is a hunfded per cent perfect. The decor is simple and offering cafe style wooden tables and simple but attractive wall decor and the entrance displaying an open style kitchen and grill, the main peparation kitchen is situated down stairs. should the ground floor cafe be full to capacity and it is always very busy take a walk upstairs where there is another seating and lounge area which isalso to be used for private celebrations. This buzzing establishment really is a must visit, the majority of eateries this days boast that their products are sourced locally, well Zam Zam Grill can go one better as all their products are supplied locally from the Asian supermarked and halal butchers accross the rosd almost opposite uncoincidently called Zam Zam Supermarket of course under the same family management, when I say that the cuts of meat are really the best succulent you can source and the other ingrediants the best you can find this really is no exageration. Will return tonthis cafe-grill time and time again and of course the advantage is you dont havw to wait untill evening, you can spoil yourself with a spicy breakfast, lunch or afternoon snack, the choicr in cadual dining really dosn't get much better than this."

"This is the perfect venue for people who love quality cocktails! I’ve been telling my friends since I went last night for the first time. Albert was so attentive in a nice relaxed way. He asked what I liked to drink, told me about some of the spirits, liqueurs, blends that he’s made we decided on a twisted espresso martini to start. WOW. It was immense. You could tell it was what it said on the tin but with an amazing quirk! Then onto the most gorgeous Aviator. I’ve never had one before but Albert suggested we try some squid ink gin… honestly! The bottle itself was stunning strangely the gin was delicious as the sample proved. The result was lovely so beautiful with strawberry bursts in a passion fruit skin. Such a treat but without the price tag. The same price you’d pay in some awful chain for a sugary mess. The fire was going. Everyone was friendly saying hi. Lovely relaxed environment as I was on my own I was happy to chat but saw several people just doing their own thing. As a woman on my own I felt comfortable even if not, feel I could’ve asked anyone for help. It’s not very modern nor do I think that aspires to be. There’s some very lovely modern art but wooden panelling etc. feels quite white, male environment but wasn’t at all the vibe. All races, sexualities clearly welcome! I think that you get the idea that I loved it. Will be bringing my friends for a ****** good catch up asap!"

"There have been a few Turkish restaurants open over the past couple of years in Northampton, so we thought it was about time we visited one. We booked a table online for a Saturday evening and had a very warm welcome when we walked in. It was quite busy but we still had a good choice of tables to sit at. The decor was unique and the whole restaurant was clean and tidy. I chose the TAVUK GUVEC CHICKEN CASSEROLE, A traditional slow cooked casserole containing diced cubes of chicken with mushrooms, onion, peppers, cooked in a authentic tomato sauce, served with rice. My wife had the YOGURTLU TAVUK SIS CHICKEN SHISH WITH YOGHURT, diced breast of chicken charcoal grilled on skewers croutons topped with yoghurt, fresh tomato butter sauce, served with rice. The food was freshly cooked, extremely tasty and arrived in ideal time. We didn't have desserts as the mains were very filling and the complimentary breads with dips as a starter and the limoncello after was a nice touch. The staff were very friendly, helpful and you could tell the owner was very proud of what he had achieved. The bill came to £55.55, including the two mains and 2 glasses of wine. Also included was a 10% service charge, which is a personal annoyance of mine when there are only two people dining. Overall I would have given 5 stars, but loses one star for the service charge. We will be back, hopefully then the service charge has been dropped."
