"We visited this restaurant for a birthday, having been enticed in by the very efficient staff promising us a first class, excellent meal. Sold well but undelivered, it was not good at all! Unsure of what to eat, the restaurant manager gave us a few options, from fish, beef, and lamb, describing each in detail, all sounding amazing. When we asked him for his best recommendation, he told us that his personal choice would be the fish. He said it was a local fish callad a Sama? It was slow cooked in a pot with vegetables, potatoes, and sauce and then would be filleted at the table by an expert waiter. We voiced concerns as we were worried about fish bones but he assured us that it would be filleted and although he couldn’t guarantee no bones, there would only be a couple at most after the waiter had filleted it as it was a large boned fish. With this in mind, and as he had sold it so well, we all decided to have it, so he ordered a fish big enough for the 4 of us. We enjoyed the starter, which was mixed tapas, and waited in anticipation for the main course to arrive. We had to wait a while, as it was cooked fresh and we were happy to do so. When it came out, it actually looked and smelt really good and the waiter brought it to the table and commenced filleting and serving it. It was awful from the first mouthful, absolutely full of bones, one of us actually pulled out a full fin! The fish was also tasteless, and there was very little of anything else other than sauce but we couldn’t really even use that as that was equally full of bones. We did complain to both the waiter and the manager, the manager then disappeared to another table and the waiter just shrugged his shoulders and said it's a fish at the end of the day. They did send complimentary drinks to the table but then still delivred a hefty bill as we then found out the fish was sold by weight. A rip-off, best avoided and we certainly wouldn't return or recommend. There are plenty of other good places to eat in Mogan...... best just to avoid this one. Such a shame as it's in a prime setting."
