"We are really disappointed with our experience at Montaigu; not because of the food but really because of the service. We were neglected from the beginning to the end of the dinner with absent or incompetent servers. We wait 45 minutes to get the card (which we have to ask for); then our starters are served we still don't have any bread (which we have to ask for). The dishes arrive lukewarm; the langoustine sorbet is melted when it arrives at our table; the monkfish is lukewarm. The waiters make many mistakes when presenting the dishes to us. They tell us about monkfish when they bring us the starter (it’s zucchini); when we ask for information about the rabbit we are not told that it is a stuffed rabbit. They bring us meat knives to eat the fish. The sommelier does not come to our table during the first hour we are seated; we end up choosing our own bottle. In total it took us more than 3 hours to eat dinner. Very disappointed with this experience that we had looked forward to during our stay at the estate."
