"We happened upon this restaurant by chance after not being able to find a place to eat in Looe or Polperro. Despite feeling tired and worn out, the staff at this restaurant were extremely welcoming. Initially, I thought I would have to settle for a meal of poppadoms and rice, but I then noticed a 'vegan friendly' symbol on the menu and decided to inquire with our waitress about vegan options. To my surprise and delight, she informed me that everything was made to order and could be prepared vegan. I was very impressed! I ended up ordering a vegetarian corma with coconut milk instead of cream, mushroom rice, Momo, and a Tandoori roti. The waitress even took the time to confirm that the vegetable sauces were vegan friendly. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant if you find yourself in the area."

"Had been meaning to get down to inkies for a long while but well worth the wait! This is BBQ done right! I love smoking bbq but sometimes its nice to have someone cook for you and by heck it was good! Pork was great but the brisket was something else really well priced too which made it all the better. With the queue that never seemed to get any shorter (people just kept coming) their smoker must put mine to shame Well worth the hours drive and The first of many visits. Well played!"

"The Highwayman has a great choice of food at reasonable prices, special diets are catered for. Sadly anything we ordered that needed frying was coated heavily in batter and quite overcooked. The time from ordering to receiving our food was nearly an hour, even though the pub appeared almost empty. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the gardens spacious and clean. We were a group of 10 adults and children and would come again , but may send the food back if arrived overcooked. Nice location, great for families."

"If I could give 0 stars then I would! We’ve been going to this place for years and their service is ridiculous. Tonight we ordered out usual lemon chicken chicken balls and chips. But maybe the staff on tonight didn’t hear us.... ‘CHICKEN’!! Not pork Got home and started to eat and turns out they gave us pork. Called the restaurant and they finally answered after waiting on the line for 20 minutes. To be told because the manager isn’t there the person on the phone had to deal with the issue. But they refused to replace the food even though I double checked with mum in the restaurant if she got chicken balls and the girl over heard the conversation. Round of applause Hot Wok. You’ve now lost 3 customers"
