"I recently joined colleagues for lunch in CasaGrande, which we randomly selected while driving through Laives. The restaurant is also associated with a small hotel bearing the same name. We were warmly welcomed and seated at a spacious table topped with a tablecloth and everyday service ware (dishes, glassware and utensils). We sat in the main dining room and I noted there was another dining room not being utilized at the lunch hour. Small tables were available in the bar entrance where drinks and lighter fare were available. Clientele were mostly local business people and the restaurant was half-full on this Thursday. A large flat-screen TV was on showing news and sports. The menu (in Italian/German languages) had a nice selection of meat and seafood antipasti, primi and entrees. There was also an extensive pizza menu; however, pizza is only available in the evenings. I started my meal with CasaGrande's house antipasto that was comprised of sliced prosciutto, cooked ham, salami, cheese, olives and a pickle. The portion was generous and the dish was typical of the area. I followed this with a bowl of Bean Soup served with toasted garlic bread. Again the portion was more than I could eat and very tasty. One of my colleagues enjoyed the mixed grilled meat platter that included sausage, wurst, chicken breast and pork loin along with grilled vegetables (eggplant zucchini) and French fried potatoes. Another colleague enjoyed agnolotti pasta filled with spinach and tossed in butter a topped with ricotta cheese. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Prices were very reasonable. CasaGrande is great for a casual lunch or evening pizza. The dining room in the back could be utilized for private functions. I will return to CasaGrande and I recommend this restaurant to the TripAdvisor community."
