"When we arrived in Taull, we needed some help finding a hotel and the good people here obliged us. We returned the good will by coming back here for dinner that evening. The place appears to be run by a woman and her son. She is the chef, he is the waiter. When we dined here the place was full but there are only about 8 tables. Interesting, is that he waits on one table, takes the order, delivers their order before going to the next table and starting over. I suppose less confusing this way, but it does make for longer waiting time. We were in no hurry, dining in Spain is as much an experience as it is enjoying food to relieve hunger. The menu has an option of ordering dinner all in one, appetizer, bread, choice of one of three entrees, wine and dessert. I opted for that, but my wife ordered a salad (formatge cabra). My appetizer was a small pasta plate, then Churrasco (marinated steak), bread, red wine, bottled water and Flan for dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious including the Churrasco- but the steak was thin, boney and fatty. Beef is not that great in this part of Spain, hence marinating to improve the flavor. Between the two of us we drank an entire bottle of wine, a large bottle of water and we had two baskets of bread. I don't know if he charged us correctly but the total tab was only 22.40 Euro. We enjoyed this place, nice decor and setting with a view of the mountains through the front picture window. I had to chuckle as the booths here are made from shipping pallets (see photo)."

"It is a lousy accommodation. Dirty beyond measure. The room had not been cleaned. Neither was the sink (it could be seen at first glance in the toilet) and it smelled of sewage. They do spray the room full blast which is the only thing room service should be. The dirty and stained bedspread. Surely the sheets had not been changed either... The pillows had brown stains of sweat and dirt and not even an inner cover to hide it (yes, a sheet cover). Be careful, the towels were not changed either. I have never seen any hotel with dirty towels... Well, these were stained. I left two on the shower floor, so they could take them away and put clean ones and to my surprise I found one of the two hanging again for use. Economic room without views is: at street level, you cannot open the window and close the curtains because people pass by (busy street) and you can see everything. It seems ok to me in that I chose it without views, but it would be nice if they explained the details that I have commented (being that way I would not have taken it). Not a closet or a single clothes hanger. Not even a glass to put the toothbrush in. And for the finishing touch: the owner: very unfriendly and arrogant. Cheap accommodation should not be synonymous with dirty. It can be cheap but include some minimums... it's the worst accommodation I've been to in my life and I'm a simple person... I wouldn't recommend it to anyone"
