"We visited Mother India on Saturday 19th March and had the most disappointing visit. I am not one for giving one star reviews too often, but given how much went wrong it’s the only score I can honestly give. The food was ok (but not...as good as I’d been told), but the service was just too bad to be true and therefore one star is appropriate. The reason for one star as follows…… We were forced to wait outside in the cold when there were only two other tables in front of us waiting. We had all booked, the tables were available, yet there seemed to be great difficulty for the manager in dealing with arrivals and allocating them a table. When we did eventually get to our table we were stuck in what can only be called a passage way and were then inconvenienced by staff every time someone passed the remainder of the night. Ordering drinks wasn’t easy either, a couple of soft drinks arrived but then we had to chase up our wine about three times and were then asked if we had ordered Gin. Three times we were asked if we ordered Gin and each time they were told no, but we still hadn’t received our wine. When the wine eventually arrived, it was simply placed on the table unopened and the waiter walked away. Luckily it was a screw top, which we opened ourselves and poured. Moving onto the main course. We received our mains and rice which were acceptable, but the Nan bread we ordered did not arrive. When we asked about the Nan bread, the waiter just shrugged and said “the Nan’s come from upstairs”! Indeed 10 minutes later the Nan did arrive from upstairs. By which time we were almost finished our meals. Even upon leaving the restaurant there were no pleasant thank you’s or goodbye’s and it felt more like “just close the door on your way out”. Extremely poor customer service and so disappointing given the good reputation of the restaurant"

"After a disappointing start to our summer gastronomic tour, we made our way to Glasgow with a vague plan to find an Indian restaurant and rethink our week. Unaware of the cycling events in Glasgow, our train ride was reminiscent of the busy London rush hour underground system. Thankfully, we stumbled upon an old favorite, "Opium", even though it wasn't Indian. We decided to give it a try and were delighted by the fabulous staff, ambiance, food, and drink. We were relieved when a couple with three noisy children arrived and asked for a children's menu, only to be told there wasn't one. With peace restored, we enjoyed a leisurely and excellent meal with fair prices and great service. I would highly recommend this restaurant!"

"imperial new dresses. piece is successful due to its mythical status as a gourmet, but purse-friendly, sandwich shop. I have to have a nice sandwich here. the owners simply don't understand how aromen work together. they press them and press them to add more and more to their sandwich, until they only this terrible chaos of hummus, koleslaw, cheese, pastrami, gott white what kind of mayo and so ugly cut salate that it immediately falls out of the two limps and sowing slices of brown brot they have tried to contain it. if they try to simplify their sandwich and not give their print, they will still sneak something in themselves, which they did not ask. "We were having a tough day filled with rain and family stress, and our hungry bellies were adding to the frustrations. However, when we walked into Lok's, we found a little oasis of calm where we were well taken care of. Our Tuesday took a turn for the better as all four of us left with clean plates, including our picky kids who were full and satisfied. The staff was attentive but not overly so, providing a bit of low-key nurturing that made our experience much more pleasant. The food was of good quality and the atmosphere was cozy. We were grateful that the nearby Morrisons cafe had a leak, allowing us to treat ourselves to a midweek dinner out for once. And to top it off, mama got to enjoy some wine. Overall, Lok's is a lovely place and we are thankful for the great experience. Thank you."

"Was looking for food before attending a concert at the OVO Hydro Glasgow. We had not pre-booked anywhere which we now realise was a huge mistake as we got knocked back from about 4 places before we finally arrived at Thai Siam. We are actually thankful that we got the knock back from everywhere as as Thia Siam was delicious! Thankfully as we came in a table of two was leaving the full-to-the brim restaurant. We had to wait 5 minutes until the left and the table was prepared for us but we received complimentary prawn crackers. Once seated we were immediately asked for any drinks. Service was very fast. We both ordered the Sweet and Sour chicken stir fry with a side of sticky rice and noodles (both extra charge . My review on food 9.5/10 Partners review 9/10 Loss of points only due to having tasted 1 other place slightly better while on holiday, it stays in our heart forever! None the less this place is a very close second with me absolutely loving it. There was a small mix up with the order as we were given a steamed and sticky rice instead of the sticky rice and noodles like we ordered. This was dealt with with no hassle and no extra cost , we were just given fresh noodles and they were perfect. A lovely authentic Thai place to visit for sure if visiting this area of Glasgow :"

"I have been here a couple of times and enjoyed the food, so booked this restaurant to go to with friends who had never been before. On arrival we had to wait 15 minutes for our table, which was not an issue. However I will now never go back. We had a nice meal, then we sat finished our drinks. After being asked if we wished anything else, we asked to order one more drink each only to be told we couldn’t as it would now take over an hour to get any drinks from the bar as they were busy. We all thought this was strange as none of us had ever been told this before in restaurant we had eaten in. Five or so minutes later the waiter then came back and said he had spoken to the bar and we could now order some drinks, which we did. Then another 5 minutes later a waitress came over told us we had to leave NOW as there was people waiting at the door for our table. She was extremely rude and unpleasant We said we had ordered drinks, only to be told she had cancelled them and we had to leave now. Usually if a restaurant needs a table back you will get a 15 minute warning. At no point we’re we told they needed the table back and if we had, of course we would have finished our drinks and left. I will now never return to this restaurant or recommend it to anyone due to one very rude and unpleasant member of staff."

"I’m writing this sitting on one of Rab Ha’s bed rooms. Room 2. Hello management if you are reading this! Not impressed. Really not impressed. I booked it a double for my husband and me and he’s pretty pissed off at the star of it. When we arrived it was configured as a twin “It was meant to be a double”, I said. “Ach, you can push beds together if you want” said with a shrug) The bedroom is filthy. Not said lightly. It is filthy. When we pushed the beds together to make a double, we wished we hadn’t. There was years of dust underneath and behind the beds. The carpet was ripped. The room was BOILING hot. There is black mould in the shower and dust on every surface in the bathroom. At the moment several wee black flies are buzzing around the room. I’d rather be on a night out, but felt compelled to post NOW. I’ll update in the morning. Dust heaps in the corner. And the loo brush was just insanitary see photos). There’s now a loud beeping noise like an alarm from the next door room. Won’t stop. So annoying. To be continued…."

"My wife and I visited tonight and had a dreadful experience. We were seated at a small table for two with restricted space. We had been seated at the same table last week and I was discomforted while dining, as I am disabled, so my wife asked to be moved to another table today. This was accommodated, then a female server approached our table and said in an abrupt manner and loud voice that we had taken her last table for 4. We didn’t take any table, we were seated by her colleague. My wife pointed out that I am disabled and needed some extra space, when the waitress said that the table was good enough for us last week and my wife was just using my disability as an excuse to get a different table. Customer-centric? No!, Disabled-centric? No! Her response was both crass and insensitive. I think that every diner stopped eating to watch and listen to her loud comments. My wife and I were left extremely embarrassed and distressed, and simply left the restaurant. If this behaviour is representative of the restaurant or staff, then, no thank you, we won’t return."

"Huevos rancheros bland. I feel that a restaurant that has the audacity to omit salt and pepper from the tables should make perfect food. Well, the huevos rancheros were very disappointing. Some black beans…not refried, just plain, unseasoned beans. The salsa was a bit better but still under seasoned and lacking on chilli and flavour. Scrambled eggs were ok, but tortillas tasted of charcoal/burnt. I was expecting lots of tasty chilli flavours. I asked for Tabasco but it didn’t really improve it."

"Really like this wee place. Don’t live in Govan but pass by now and again and always thought it looked nice. Its been done really well. And stands out as you drive by. Should have left a review the first time we visited as we really enjoyed it. Second time round was even better. On arrival we took an outside table to enjoy the sun with our dog. The woman eating her lunch at the next table immediately got up and asked if we would like some water for her. I joked, I take it you work here and your not just a friendly customer. We laughed. Good start as she was obviously on her break. Service was quick and efficient. No long waits. Prices were very reasonable for the big portions. Even had one of the waitress bring me chips that they had forgot with my main. I hadn’t even noticed and didn’t realise I was to get chips, but was quite happy with what I had for the price. So I let the very pleasant staff have them as I was full. They were really nice. We will certainly go back for the good food, good prices and excellent friendly service. And our wee doggie appreciated being looked after. Keep up the good work. See you soon and thanks."

"The food at this restaurant is divine. It is clear that a lot of thought and care is put into each dish. I arrived just in time for the pre-theatre dinner, which runs from 5 to 6:30pm and offers great deals. I enjoyed two courses for £14.95 and both dishes were excellent. The restaurant is small, giving it an intimate atmosphere, and the warm and cozy lighting adds to the charm. It is recommended to make a reservation as it gets busy, but once you taste the food, you will understand why. Everything about this place exudes quality. I will definitely be saving room for dessert on my next visit."

"My husband and I were looking for a quick breakfast spot in the neighborhood and found this gem. Tiny spot with limited seating, but we were able to snag a seat. We both had the avocado toast with fried eggs which was delicious. They were also super accommodating for gluten free all of their toasties and sandwiches can be made on GF bread. I even watched the cook use parchment to protect my GF bread from cross contamination when toasting! Husband also had a side of bacon, which he raved about. Highly recommend for meat loving and gluten free visitors!"

"First time visiting and won 't be back, prices are higher that other eateries in the area and there is no justification for this as the service was slow (staff stood chatting whilst I waited to be served, must have been something interesting as it was a long conversation), upon the foods arrival it was not well cooked (I 'm no chef and can rustle up better than this) and I ended up leaving most of it as by that time I 'd been there over 40 minutes and a quick bite this was not, and I was in a hurry to go. Not the cleanest of places either, cutlery was dirty and I had to ask for a clean fork. There are so many places locally that for this price you could get much better. Having read other reviews I can see I am not alone in this opinion."

"fresh and very tasty mushes! we had fishcake, garnel and laughs as appetizers. 2 buckets with 2 different flavors: schalotte sauce and special muzzle with a little red sauce. both are really succulent! the house white wine was extremely light. I do not recommend going for this choice of the wee. if they are a seafood lover, this place must be one!"

"Cheery little place offering some fantastic food. I think the food here was better than many others in Glasgow. There has been loads of tapas places opening Fino, Cubatas, Tinto West End, Rioja, Brutti Compadres etc So far those places have been good in their own ways and pleased to say La Boca is too. Super friendly staff, delicious food and a real nice atmosphere. We had desserts too which is rare for us and they were also really good. Recommend the sticky toffee pudding. Only negative was that they use those really harsh white/blue LED lights at the very back where our table was which weren't so comfortable to sit under and weren't cosy like the rest of the restaurant. Would go back."

"I write this with heavy heart as the cafe has long been our ‘go to’ place for lunch or coffee and scones/cake. Lunch dropped off the agenda some time ago , as I have not been impressed with the rarely changing menu.I did try the Art Lovers salad a few weeks back when a friend was keen to have lunch there but it was really poor.Fairly tasteless dressing and two big, muckle lumps of chicken dumped on top . Not chargrilled in nice sliced pieces but cooked and served as if someone really couldn’t be bothered.There were also two big chunks of avocado..again, poorly presented. I had long thought the scones here were amongst the very best(being a scone aficionado But on the last two visits for tea and scones, my fruit scone has been as dry as toast.Not sure if they are not freshly made anymore, or frozen or just poorly made. I did complain about this a few days ago and got a replacement which was just as bad.Not the (always very nice and friendly serving staff’s fault but a poor baker in the kitchen perhaps.They usually serve the scones nice and warm but this was lukewarm , I assume because any more heating would have rendered it inedible. I really hope the cafe can return to its previous quality.It was incredibly quiet when we were in at the weekend so perhaps others are finding similar issues. It’s such a lovely venue too and we always buy the annual Friends card but I can see it getting far less use for the remainder of the year ,sadly."

"The restaurant had a very fancy atmosphere, and the clientele was dressed up, making us feel a bit out of place as we were the least dressed up (my son and I were headed to watch Scotland vs Norway, while my daughter had just finished her shift at the Pastie Emporium across the road). However, the staff didn't seem to mind at all and treated us just as well as the other customers, which we greatly appreciated. The crab cakes were amazing, especially since I had lost my sense of taste and smell due to having had Covid a few months prior. The kids loved their fish and chips and finished every last bite. I will definitely be returning when I come back to visit my daughter at university, and next time I will make sure to dress up a bit more."

"We visited this restaurant for the second time and it was just as wonderful as our first visit. This time, we were joined by a friend and his wife who had never been before, and I am confident they will be returning. We decided to skip starters and went straight for mains and desserts, although we enjoyed some bread and olives before our steaks arrived. We tried three types of steak - fillet, sirloin, and T-bone - all cooked to perfection. For dessert, we opted for either chocolate delice or rhubarb crumble, accompanied by red wine. The service we received from start to finish was exceptional, making our Saturday afternoon experience even more enjoyable. While this may not be a place we can visit every week due to the price, if you are looking for delicious food served by friendly, attentive staff, this restaurant won't disappoint."

"thairiffic has not only a quite fabulous name, but also boasts completely scrummy Thai food in a very beautiful Wee restaurant above the sauchiehall street. open to the last 3 months and directly to my work I cannot believe that it takes me to visit for so long. a Tuesday birthday was the tipppunkt and jumped into the restaurant to book a work event a few weeks back, I was actually a little worried that it would be pretty quiet. on Tuesday at 18 o'clock there were at least 6 more tables that eat and it became more and more business than the one that went on at night."
