"Beautiful building in the center of a town, but unfortunately had the worst experience due to it not being well maintained. Our room had some weird bugs everywhere, there were a few crawling in the bed, on the chairs, tables, on all surfaces and in all corners. Some of them also seemed dead and to have been there for a while. We freaked out and had to shake all of the bags and clothes that we left earlier in the room to remove the bugs, packed and went to the reception. The hotel offered another room they had available and upon inspection it seemed to not have the same problem, however we did find a lot of dust, and spiderwebs in most corners, and it has a weird smell that didn't seem to go away. There was no real explanation why the previous room had such a big problem, every person we spoke to said something different (a few of local bugs couldn't be avoided, they changed the spray for the wood recently, there was a disinfection or that there would be). Nobody was rude, people tried to be helpful but also didn't seem to care much (no one even checked the room). In any case though it was obvious the rooms weren't properly cleaned as THAT amount of insects isn't in any way normal, even if they are some local bug that couldn't be completely avoided. We saw a few crawling around the hotels's top floor below the wooden ceiling too, and I don't think we were the first to ever notice it. The combination of the bad smell in the new room, the changing of the rooms and checking for the bugs, seeing all the dirt, the weird bugs themselves resulted in me being too anxious to sleep. We left the next morning absolutely exhausted and I couldn't wait to get away from that hotel. Such a shame though because the building is nice and they have a cute garden, but it needs a thorough cleaning. We had dinner there that was underwhelming, with very very slow service; but the breakfast was great, and the staff there very friendly and welcoming. Would not return and would not recommend."
